Need to re-zero the Ruger...and don't have a good place to do it without having to hunt brass in tall grass so my question is will POI be affected much if I shut off the gas and cycle by hand?

Running a leupold mark ar 3x9 with 1/2 MOA increments...will zero @ 100 yds.

It shouldn't, but the recoil impulse will be different and that could affect your hold and decrease consistency.

i doubt anyone here will point fingers at you for leaving a spent case or 5 in the grass. you are leaving jacketed bullets with lead and copper in the wild too.

Not my concern....these are reloads in prepped/sorted brass....

Guess I'll try it and see...
