I built my 16" 6.8 on Adams Arms kit.

LMT. You can switch out the barrel in a minute and replace with 5.56 or 300 BO.
The LMT comes in piston form for 6.8, but at 16". Not sure what short means to you though. I asked ADCO about cutting down a 6.8 piston barrel, but they advised against it. |

I don't think I would go below a 10". AA did tell me their piston system works with 6.8. So now I just need to find a barrel, and bolt.

I have a PWS Diablo upper in 6.8 SPC (They are extremely rare). Runs like a champ!
