My LGS has them for 1039.00 and the SWAT 516 for 1299.99. He has sold a lot and has had these prices for a long time.

Too bad as it was a great buy. (Is a great buy if you can find one) If you are one who does not like the quad rail will not use the back up sites and does not care for the upgrades like all the Magpul gear then the basic was perfect for you. However, if you bought a basic and wanted to upgrade the parts the $260.00 you saved would not buy half of the extras that come with the standard Patrol (sometimes called Swat model) The Basic model is also lighter and better balanced as the plastic hand guard does not cause the muzzle heaviness of the aluminum Quad (although the 516 is not as muzzle heavy as most pistons). Mine is on the UPS truck now ( Gen 2 Swat version). I had the basic and decided I preferred the upgraded and a friend took my basic gladly after 3K rounds without a single FT anything Wulfmann |

False alarm, I went to another Academy this morning and asked about these guns, they were not Sig 516 patrol rifles, they were Sig 556 patrol rifles. Guy said they have not seen any 516 rifles as of yet. They did have a Sig 716 for $1699. My local dealer called anyway today and has 2 516 rifles headed this way, a black and a FDE, I will snag one of those when they arrive.

Since they only sell at Texas gun shows they are not an option for most people. You paid $1159.00 out the door total? That would be a great price even with taxes and call in for $1250.00 but isn't that a Gen 1? Wulfmann |

Yes it was 1250 with tax on Gen 1.
Since the OP is in Texas. Just wanted to let him know of another venue to try. |
