Considering that the only thing that needs to be changed in an AR15 to make it 300AAC is the barrel, I think adding a piston to it would be just fine. In theory, it should be the same for the Adams Arms kit. If the 300AAC pushes a DI bolt back with the same force as a 5.56 round, then it would do the same to the piston.
All speculation, but it makes sense to me. |

I spoke with a "tech" from AA and explain to him what I want to do. He told me it could be done and have spoke with people who have done it however AA haven't done R&D to claim it will work. He was very vague citing that he didn't know my capabilities of working on ARs and that mods to the upper, lower, and barrel may be necessary. I took that as buffers/spring combinations and gas ports. I was hoping someone here has done it.
