Damnit, I might have to do an XM177E2 build now...

Any chance you will be releasing a retro aluminum stock as used on the XM177E2? Love all the retro parts Brownells is coming out with.

Looks good but I wish the "hide-away" CAR flash hiders of the 80s would make a comeback that way you can keep the 16" barrel.

I know Brownells has retro pencil barrels with the period correct twist rate in 20"
How about short barrels, like 11" so correct XM-177 or GAU-5's can be built, also in 1-12 and 0.625" dia at the gas block?   I "need" a couple of those.

Agreed, we're excited to see complete guns coming available, as well as the components.  We plan to offer a wide variety of retro components for early AR-15/M16 rifles & carbines.  As long as we can get our hands on them, and they aren't too niche, we'll carry them.  Currently we're revising the barrel line, and hope to get additional components, such as sights, soon afterwards.

Our XM177 muzzle device simply acts as a flash hider, as it is hollow inside.  If compensating abilities are desired, the Griffin Armament model is the way to go.

Except that quite a few people have had the Griffin comps crack with no response from Griffin.

I don't really get the retro thing. Why would I pay $600, $700, that crazy price colt is putting on that retro model to have a gun that performs less...but looks cool...sort of? I'd much rather look a a google image search of retro ARs or maybe even get a framed pic and spend the money on a JP Enhanced bolt, training, mags, case of TAP T2,........

Yeah, an authentic xm slip over that is an actual flash hider. I'd buy one..

Retro rifles are great for lightweight KISS builds for those of us who carry our rifles as much as we shoot them. I actually shoot A1/A2 rifles better than I shoot M4geries due to the smoother recoil impulse and longer sight radius, so 'performs less' really depends on the end user.

Any chance you will offer a complete barrel assembly or upper assembly with the XM177 flash hider already pinned and welded?

Why do people take old beat up Mustangs and Camaros, and fix them up all new? I mean, new cars today are "better" than those old cars, right?

For me, the first moment I fell in love with the gun was watching Neo using one in the Matrix. That old retro M16 is such a beautiful thing.
