I am getting ready to build a 24 inch .375 SOCOM and had planned on using a FDE 15 inch Gen 3 Keymod lightweight.  I might have to rethink that now unless you have the Gen 3 LW Keymod planned for an 18 inch stretch job.
Looks great. Kind of big in diameter for my use since I won't be using suppressor but it looks really good anyway.

DPMS Low-Profile AR-10 pattern?

Holy cow! Why? Overkill, but looks clean. The only thing i don't like, is the clamping area. No question to its effectiveness, just thinking it could be machined a more aesthetic way.

Anyways, stuff looks good. Too long for my liking, but slick none the less.

24'' barrels or for use as a suppressor shroud (hence large inner diameter)

Might as well have made it 19" to fully cover the barrel on a 20".

I agree, I think this 18" and the 12" are good combo for suppressed SBRs....among many other options, as well. I mean there are a ton of options for this, but that right there is my delight.  I am very happy about this.

Midwest, on the next design iteration, include a barrel not that doesn't need to be timed for the SP version.

I got my 18 inch MI SPS handguard a week or so ago and Duracoated it Magpul FDE.  Today my TROMIX .375 SOCOM 24 inch barrel arrived so together it went.
THIS boys and girls, is why an 18 inch handguard is needed even if one is not shooting suppressed.  Like it or not, that is purely a personal choice, but the long handguard on the long barrel fits and feels right to me, balances well (barrel is a mid-light weight, .800/.750/.745) and is finished off with the MI .308 three port brake opened up by Paladin Machine Shop Service to clear the .375 SOCOM bullet (OH NO, I VOIDED MI's WARRANTY on the brake, whatever will I do )
Slots are filled with MagPul M-Lok type 1 covers on the sides and rail covers on the bottom.

Damn! I'd have bought this if I knew about it a week ago. I ended up going with a URX4. Was looking for something with a larger ID.

J/K Little too long for my taste, but at least it's another option for someone in the market for an ultra extended length handguard.

Exactly.  If they chose to offer it instead of the 15" (or any other length), then I'd think they were nuts.  Since it's in addition to, then options are always good.

That's the thing I love about MI, SELECTION!  18 inch too long for you, they offer a full selection of shorter lengths also.  The SPS too fat, they offer super skinny forends also.  If they don't have what you want, I question if you really need it!. And should you EVER need customer service, well, in my experience, they are second to none.  There are very few companies I have delt with which have the outstanding CS that MI has, them and TROMIX are the two tops in CS that I have encountered.

CS just keeps getting better and better.  A month or so ago I got the SPS 18 inch for my TROMIX 24 inch .375 SOCOM and the SPS was only available in black.  Not a problem, a few minutes with some Duracoat and it was Magpul FDE.  Last week I needed to get another 18 inch SPS for the .358 SOCOM, also a 24 inch TROMIX barrel.  All that I noticed on the site was black so that's what I ordered.  I had contacted Andy about another item and he knew I was going to order the rail, and he also knows my preference for FDE, so, without me saying anything about the color I really wanted, he surprised me and shipped me out, what I assume is a pre-production, or at least not on the web site yet, 18 inch SPS in factory FDE!  To say I did a happy dance is understating it.  No, it is not a perfect match for Magpul FDE but I quit insisting that my purse match my shoes exactly a long time ago,  It looks great and once again MI CS comes through like gangbusters.
