I'm typically leery of these kinds of products... but that's badass.
ETA - $900... I guess I won't be buying one. |
|
Could you tell us how much this weighs with and without the LPK? Are there options on buffer weight and buffer spring strengths?
|

I assume this is a joint development with CMT to make a lightweight version of their PDW lower. $325 extra ($275 w/ intro sale price) to reduce the weight.

I can get a sense for what it is based on the stock/buffer system being approximately 19.5 oz, and the stripped BAD556-LW Lower Receiver being 6.84 oz. You have added some new parts and capability to the lower with the ambi mag release and ambi bolt release mechanisms so it will be somewhat heavier. It would be good to know what buffer weight options there are (whether you could pop a pin out and either remove or add weight) and also what kinds of springs would be available to use in this proprietary receiver extension. I agree with the comment that this is "badass"! Expensive though. ETA - guessing the heaviest buffer weight is 3.3 oz (tungsten) from the CMT site. |

Its good quality stuff |

Thanks for the info. I definitely like the design, especially the shortness when collapsed, and you have explained the added value received for the price. Seems more than fair.

3. Lightweight & Ambi Design - Receiver design is patterned after our BAD556-LW Lightweight Receiver but with FULL AMBIDEXTROUS CONTROLS. Built-In Ambi Mag Release & Built-In Ambi Bolt Release. CMT is ambi as well but our design is a bit different. View Quote That said, I'm a fan of what you've done with it. |

We are never the low price leader but we offer value for our products through innovation, quality, functionality, aesthetics, etc. There are over 7 patents and patents pending in this lower kit alone. |

I don't see the point. It is only 1.5" shorter than an M4 receiver extension, the stock has to be fully extended to "shotgun" the upper, it costs hundreds of dollars more, and will be less reliable. When firing, the stock will be in the same length as a normal setup.

It is not for everyone but when you need it, you need it. It can shoot fully collapsed unlike a folder (which you may only get 1 shot). I disagree with the statement that it will be less reliable. It still remains to be seen since we can't say our buffer system have been tested as rigorously and as long as the MilSpec Carbine Buffer System. However, under some of the most common configurations we have tested, the buffer system performed flawlessly in full-auto & semi-auto. The recoil impulse is also better due to our proprietary buffer & spring system design. These are feedback from some of the top experts in the industry. I know it is sometimes counter intuitive for people to look at our products and think Lighter but Stronger? Lower Profile but More Ergonomic? Shorter but More Reliable? It is not the norm but we have proven that time and time again it is possible. |

Gents, The (o)VERT PDW Lower & Stock System is designed to be a dedicated PDW SBR Rifle. The monolithic design was conceived by Battle Arms and we co-developed the stock mechanism with Cross Machine Tool hence the similarities. The stock housing is machined from one solid block of billet 7075T6 Aluminum as the lower receiver. It is lighter and stronger than your traditional bolt-on stock system that is only as strong as the buffer tube. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/0603/wdigeorge/BADINC/Monolithic_zpspu8errby.jpg There are a few major differences between our version and the CMT version: 1. Compact 4.75" Stock Length - It is about 1" shorter than CMT fully collapsed 2. Proprietary Buffer System - Our ultra compact buffer system is the key that allowed the stock to be only 4.75" long and the ability to use any MilSpec M16 Bolt Carrier. No proprietary BCG or adapter required. Ability to "shotgun" the upper. As for pricing, our lower comes almost complete (less trigger group), not stripped. It is packed full of our latest new product releases. The total value is over $1100 and the package sale price is $899 a great value if you dig a bit deeper to understand exactly what quality products that are included.

Looking great! Our PDW Stock System is going to be on pre-sale price of $399 plus we will throw in a mystery surprise worth about $25 (a new Battle Arms Product). Rainier will also have a presale before us at $379 (no mystery item).

I really like the concept. I already have 2 SBRs on the bland forged Aero precision lowers with the ambi PDQ bolt catch
but if anyone comes up with a monolithic lower that includes an ambi bolt CATCH, I guess I'm getting a third SBR lower I dont need...but freaking want! |
