Just got our hands on the new Scalarworks Ultra Light QD Aimpoint Micro Mount
The new Scalarworks LDM is the lighest quick detach capable mount on the market, utilizing a ball detent secured screw system. The mount attached and detaches in seconds, and offers excellent return to zero capability. It utilizes a lightweight, yes strong box design with generous internal radii to reduce stress concentration and torsional stresses to be expected from a hard use optic mount. The Absolute co-witness model weighs 1.325 ounces, with the 1/3 co-witness weighing 1.38 ounces. Please note that the 4 Aimpoint screws are NOT included and you will need to re-use the ones you have. If you've lost them, please contact Scalarworks directly, and they will be able to source some for you! 1/3 Co-wtiness Available Here Absolute Co-wtiness Available Here |

They are good looking mounts. Thanks, Stick! Please PM me your best email if you'd like to try one out. Oddly enough, I have a non-AR project I'm working on in addition to the regular projects where I think the mount might work. I should have stopped off to see you guys last time I was out at Picatinny. |

I cannot say enough good things about this mount.
I love mine. I'll probably pick up a second one soon, as soon as I find another deal on an H1/T1 in the EE. Side note, I called Aimpoint and they sent out five screws and a wrench for free. You can use the torx Aimpoint wrench to tighten the wheel - I've found that finger tight is more than enough though. |

I got one off the EE and I love it. I was surprised how solidly it locks up when its only finger tight. Now Scalarworks just needs to come out with a cowitness model for the Trijicon RMR. I prefer this to the ADM mounts that I have been using...and I really like ADM mounts.

Sweet.
I love my DD because of it's light weight. Looks like I need to get one of these. |

I'm assuming these will fit any micro optic? Including a PA micro for those of us that aren't Tier 1?

Check out the full specs for compatibility: https://scalarworks.com/optic-mounts/ldm-micro/#x-content-band-12 The LDM/Micro is also compatible with the Vortex Sparc II for anyone interested, it just co-witnesses 1mm higher than the rest. |

Just ordered one. Trying to keep the weight down on this rifle.

Sorry, just not seeing the point here. The LaRue LT 660 QD mount is 2.7 ounces, this is 1.3 ounces. 1.4 ounces is really that big a difference? I don't think so.

A fighting rifle well equipped is going to be a tad on the weighed down side. Just can't see the point in saving 1.4 ounces. I would not want to sacrifice the QD function for any number of reasons. |

Rock on brother. I doubt many people are going to run out and dump a perfectly good mount (Larue, Bobro, ADM, Ect.) for 1.4 oz of weight savings. With that being said, the weight savings is welcomed and the wheel QD mount is innovative. It was the perfect mount for my purposes since I didn't have a mount for the H1 I recently ordered. For anyone that is in need of a mount, this one should be considered. |

View Quote The "I don't see the point" mentality is understandable. Most gun owners are by their very, nature, conservative and resistant to change... after all "if it aint broke, don't fix it". That being said, this mount is undeniably lighter, full featured, and has an excellent design. If you don't think a 51.85% reduction in weight is a big deal in the grand scheme of things that's totally acceptable and your opinion... but I'm personally very impressed with a 50% reduction in weight. 1.4 ounces probably won't make/break anyone's back but the massive reduction in weight, percetange wise, should be impressive to anyone who doesn't have emotional or financial investment in Aimpoint mounts. Best part of this design in my opinion is that it is fairly original and unique in an segment saturated with similar designs. I like Scalarwork's originality in engineering a unique solution, as well its overall sleek and low mass design. |

I've had my eye on this mount for some time. If/when I decide to take the plunge on the new H2 I'd like to go this route.

Due to youtube's compression and the way the GoPro balances light, the dot can be hard to make out at sub-HD viewing resolutions. Try either 720P or 1080P and it should be clearer. |

It worked, but didn't exactly look professional. |
