Todd. How much closer are you to getting the large I.D. handguards ready for production. So I can put a suppressor under one of your awsome hand guards. Thanx.

That sounds great! I've purchased 3 hand guards from you and am totally happy.  I would like a larger ID for my next build for suppressor use.

We have a few neat things coming. Of course we are moving the machine shop to a new location next month and also bringing 2-3 more verticals on line so everything take way too long from concept to production.

Thanks!

Boom! I will be in for one of these. I had to get a rainier arms force rail for my Syrac piston set up.  I originally had one of yours!  Thanks for letting me return it!

Hey Todd, I'm building a varmint rifle was wondering if your Solo series 16.5"  would be compatible with a barrel OD of 1.04" at the widest point and a low profile 0.936 gas block?

This is the one I want to use for this build:

16.5" SOLO SERIES KEYMOD HANDGUARD Product Code: 16KM-SOLO

http://slrrifleworks.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=66_106_69&product_id=115

Thanks!

I now have one on my 8" 300 blk SBR, just got one for my 10.5

I have one on my 300 and 223 SBRs and just ordered one for my Core30 308. The best handguards I have ever used.  If you like the handguards and want a perfect smooth shooting rifle, get set up with one of his adjustable gas blocks.  Both my SBRs run them and work with and without my suppressor.  Thanks Todd!

Todd,

I'm building a suppressed, 8.5" barreled SBR and would like to use one of your 8" Solo's.  If the Solo is exactly 8", as stated previously in this thread, I believe it will be just a little bit too long to install the silencer.  I'm currently waiting on the form 1 and 4 approvals so I don't have the parts available to make exact measurements.  However, using the barrel dimensions I obtained from Noveske,  it looks like it will be about 3/16" too long.

I know I could use the 7" but it would leave a large gap between the rail and silencer.  I want to minimize that gap as much as possible.

Do you have any plans to release a 7.8"(ish) version for folks with 8.5" barrels?  If not, would it be possible to shave ~0.2" off the end of the Solo without reaching the first vent holes?

I've been following this thread for a while while researching my 300 BLK build. I wanted the same set up as you, 8.5 barrel and 8 inch Solo Lite handguard. I actually just asked Todd for exact measurements on a couple Solo Lite handguard lengths to see if it would work and here's what he replied:

7" is 7-1/4"
8" is 8-3/16"
9"is 9-1/4"
11" is 11"

*** EDIT TO CLARIFY: the above measurements were provided in reference to the M-LOK Solo Lite handguards. The 8 inch KEYMOD Solo Lite is advertised as exactly 8 inches on the SLR website. ***

I just bought the 8 inch M-Lok Solo Lite during this weekends sale and decided to cut down a longer barrel (and resize the gas port a bit) to get a close for with my can.

I really like it. I put the Naroh between my last two fingers and don't really touch the front barricade stop when shooting.

Whoa!  The 8" is really 8-3/16"?  In that case, it wouldn't come close to working on my build.

No matter, I went ahead and ordered the 7" to take advantage of the weekend sale.  It will have more of a gap than I would like, but at least I know everything will fit.

You will be pleased.  SLR is top notch stuff and once you see the thing, you'll be amazed at the weight, simplicity, and pure aesthetics.

At least I was.  That's why I keep going back!  Got my 5th Sentry in the mail right now, and about to order my 4th handguard, in addition to a muzzle device and some handstops and panels.  Everything is beautiful and works well. Congrats.

The quality is as good as any rail I have ever owned. I have owned spikes, Larue, cmt, rainier and a few others. They are great I love the no need to time the barrel nut also.

Entirely new. Barrel nut is longer and mount is different, other than that the rail is the same from what I have seen them say.

It's the 4th gen. They are always trying to make their products better. I have had two gen 1 rails that are rock solid. I wouldn't worry about the different generations. However, I will say the newer gen rails are lighter than my gen 1 with steel barrel nut.

Fair enough!

I noticed quite a few new handguard option since I visited the site last. I like the innovative mentality. Any plans for an exactly 7.5, 8, or 8.5 mlok solo lite, Todd? That would save me some headache on my latest project and I'd be persuaded to buy another!

Right... The 8 inch solo lite mlok is actually 8 3/16 inches, which convenient enough is just about 3/16 too long for my project. I'm looking for exactly 8 inches. Note that the description of some rails, like the 8 inch keymod solo lite, list exact measurements.
