I have 9 items in my cart at Brownells, but I'm not checking out until these show up on their shelves. Stuck in a holding pattern until I can add 3 of these pin sets.
I'm not in a big rush though. I broke my humerus last week so I can't do much other than look at the various parts I've accumulated for my next build. |

Getting a new BAD lower in that picture would make it just about perfect!

The lower has been tested and we're just waiting for some red tape to clear.
We're hot on the development of the last piece of the Battle Arms LPK now |

I ordered a set and now wish I would have ordered two to save on combined shipping. Oh well.

I would love to put these pins on my rig... I did read somewhere that the BAD pivot pin wont work with the AX556 lower... is this true? Unless the AXTS pivot pin is a different length I cant see why the BAD one wouldn't work? The heads seem to be the same shape...
Even if the pivot pin doesn't work, I might just buy a set for the takedown pin, thats how nice they look... I can always give the pivot pin to my brother who has a Bushmaster. |

I believe we have either shipped to Brownell's already, or will be shipping in a day or two. But Brownell's can sometimes take a while before it updates the product availability...

Might have to pick these up.. Just installed the BAD-ASS ambi safety today and couldn't be happier with their craftsmanship. I like the bullet tip guide feature.

Are they anywhere yet? I'd like to buy 'em but I can't find 'em.

When are stainless pins going to be available? I need them to match the stainless selector!

As soon as we have the machining time, we're readying our lowers

Couple of prototypes here The EPP prototype is starting to rust a little, it's completely in the white, no heat treat or Parkerizing, it shows off the details very well. http://i75.photobucket.com/albums/i314/Duffypoo/prototypes_zps91be8d3a.png Stainless steel AR15, and AR10 spec versions will be available soon View Quote Yes please on the AR10 versions. Installed on by AR15s and definitely need them on the big brother. Rough time frame? |

No firm ETA, it'll be around the same time as we introduce the version for receivers with vertical take down pin detent/spring holes (like the AR10)

I told Roger I would give him an update when the weather changes as to my experience with the ETP and EPP. I was fortunate enough to be one of the beta testers and from the get go I thought these tiny pieces of equip were great, but that review is in the early pages of this thread so I will not harp on that. Today after work I had a few hours to kill so I packed up and went to the range. After a solid session and it starting to get dark I figured it would be a good time to give the ETP and EPP another look. Where I live it was in the mid 30's with wind chills in the 20's today. With my fingers freezing numb and stiff I decided to break down the 2 AR's I had with me, one was a DDV1 without the enhanced pins installed and the other a BCM build with the BAD enhanced pins installed. First I started the break down with my gloves on. The DD gave a bit of trouble, those that shoot in the cold know that this is usual for the pins to stiffen up and at times seem like they are not going to move. Another thing I could not get a good grip with my gloves on the standard pins that are on the DD, it is not a huge deal but something that can add time on to a situation where very second matters. Using a round works but again this is a time where the cold only adds time and frustration, sometimes a scratched lower or a dinged hand. After messing with the standard pins a few times I took the gloves off and used my bare hands. In the cold my hands get slippery and it is hard to get a positive grip on the pivot pin and take down pin heads. Again not a huge issue but still a pain in the ass.
I then moved to the BCM with the enhanced pins installed. First with the gloves, easy, those groves in the pin heads really make a solid difference, even the small ones in the enhanced takedown pin. The pins did not reenact the small seizing effect that the standard pins yielded, I am sure it was due to the better grip on the pins themselves. Without gloves it was just as easy. Positive locking both while removal and install. The round indent in each pin is also great, they just work. While I had both rifles apart in front of me I decided to de-install the EPP and reinstall it, something many have done in the chilly cold but all who have done it know it can be a pain in the ass in any climate and it is anything but fun. The magnet and detent index mark made this a breeze and I seriously had cracked a small smile at how much easier it is. The last test was letting a friend I brought along try to give both rifles a quick upper/lower breakdown. He is absolutely inexperienced when it comes to anything related to firearms, of course I safety checked both rifles and with some instruction I let him start. He started with the BCM with the enhanced pins installed and the break down went off effortlessly. When he started to break down the DD he looked stumped and asked if something was different about the way the pins come out or how it is taken apart, after assuring him they break down the same he swore the rifle with the standard pins had something wrong with it, of course it did not. Final thoughts, while I know most of this feedback is repeated information and many individuals break down their rifles every day in temperatures below 0 with out an issue, I am just saying that we all know in cold weather even common things can become a bit tedious, our hands are not as fluent and comfortable, gloves may be worn etc and it makes small things harder to do. The ETP and EPP is a nice addition specially with experiences, climates like today. It becomes more obvious to me as to why BAD decided to integrate some of the features that they decided to incorporate with the ETP and EPP. Lots of though went into these and I will say it again they will be replacing all previous builds and they will be in all future builds. |

After seeing on BAD's latest offering, I have taken the opportunity to install BAD's Enhanced Pins Sets (EPS) on most of my new builds. I am quite satisfied with the fit and the finish.
After looking at the BAD site, I also picked up numerous sets of their BAD-ambi-safety switch (ASS) kits. I had the same experience as with the EPS kits, top notch product. I had one issue with one BAD-ASS installation and a 2-step trigger assembly. A call to BAD, exchanged some emails with Roger, and the situation was completely resolved to my satisfaction. Great company. Thanks Roger! |

It is even easier!
The front of the pivot pin has a hole, insert a small punch or unbent paper clip to press the detent in, then with a cupped hand in front of the pivot pin (the detent usually shoots out of the detent/spring hole when the pin is no longer there to keep it in place), pull the pivot in out. Did you get yours? (I included a T&E sample in your last order) |
I've already installed 4 sets. I also have put some of my friends on this... This product is up there with the gun fighter charging handle and key mod !
Got a set yesterday, took all of a few minutes to install. Smart idea, and a well thought out product. Did I need them, no. Do I want them, yes. I store my rifle in a take down case so the receivers come apart often. Makes life a little easier.
I have a Seekins Precision receiver set where the detent spring and detent for the rear take down pin is located under the grip. Will these pins work with that setup as I am very interested in them? Thanks to anyone who can help answer this for me.
For receivers whose take down pin spring and detent hole is next to the selector detent and spring hole, it'll work. The only difference is the flat that's normally facing 1 o'clock will need to be rotated counter clockwise (with the pin head facing you) by 90 degrees, so the detent holes and groove of the ETP is facing 6 o'clock.
The flat is now facing 10 o'clock, not a very useful place for it to be, but there's still knurling on the rest of the pin head. However, if your upper receiver has the forward assist located further toward the muzzle, the 10 o'clock flat is not a bad place to be. We will be offering a version for receivers whose take down pin spring/detent hole is not parallel to the bore, this will orient the flat on the ETP to 1 o'clock |
Ok thanks for the help. I might just order a set for right now then when ever the other version is released ill order them as a replacement. Thanks again.
Any update on the "other company" making the oversized version?
No update, I hope they don't proceed with it, or it'll get ugly
I received my set a few weeks ago now.
I have to say they are really much easier to take out and install. The magnet really does make it stupid easy to get the pivot pin in. I will definitely be using these in future builds and actually just used these to replace my noveske pins with zero regrets. |

I don't know, the EMR still needs to be tested, the receiver has a few little tweaks to complete
