I realize the asking price would be higher than I would pay, however, if they don't sell them at the price they are asking, then i am sure they will lower the price. But if they are selling at the price they are asking, why would they lower the price?

I love the jig. Never tried to roll my own, but your jig sure looks like it would make it easy. My problem with all of the 80% lowers is price. I just cannot understand paying as much or more for an unfinished piece. For $50 ...I would buy several and give it a shot. I get the no serial number, no record, but not the price. Love the Jig!.

Our products are 100% Made in the USA. These are 80% completed lowers that are being sold to Americans so unless you take it out of the country when it is finished it will still be 100% made in the USA!

In an extreme pressure testing the forged lower came out ahead on only 1 of the tests and everyone thinks for some reason that it means the forged lowers are by far stronger than the billet lowers. Are forged lowers stronger? Technically yes! but by how much? Let me put it like this if you had two lowers, one billet and one forged. If you put them in a machine that pulled on them to rip them apart and the forged one could handle 100,000 lbs then the billet one would handle 99,999 lbs. Its such a small difference that the overall strength should not be a factor of which one you get. The main difference between the two is tolerances. Billet Lowers are machined to much tighter tolerances than forged lowers and are designed for higher precision. I got my order a while ago; one of the plates on the jig was slightly fubar. I asked for a replacement plate and they sent a whole jig. Excellent CS.

You know, I was thinking last night I needed to pay attention and remove the rear pin when I went to do the rear pocket. Remembered on the first one, forgot on the second one. RIP rear pin.
Still, had a spare, so no problems there. I know some 80% lowers come with the very back of the rear pocket cut so you can assemble them on an upper to use in displays; it might be nice if you could do this. Another thing that would be nice is if the top templates had a rebate in the upper edge of the jig to align them. This would eliminate the need for the slots, and would make getting it all square easier. Thanks! |
