It's funny how I've been preaching that Troy industries come with a 10" VTAC, and now you do this....I don't see this as a coincidence, and neither will my bank account....nicely done MI. What will be price point be for the 10" rail?

We are setting up the 10 inch models right now. Once we get some cycle times we will be able to get a accurate price.
Thanks TROY MI |

Can you tell me what the I.D. is of the Gen 1 and Gen 2 handguards? I really like the Gen 2 design but I'm afraid it will be too small to fit over my suppressed SBR.

When will the 15" models start shipping??
I know, I know, this has sorta been answered here and on your website it says "early to mid Feb"............. I have already placed my order last week and I am super anxious!!!!! Please tell me soon......
Also, I have another question..... Will this tube fit over my YHM gas-block? I have the clamp on mini sized model, but when you say the I.D. is only 1.3 it makes me nervous. Hell, 1.3 ain't very big... Thanks in advance–– Foursixty |

The 15 inch models are at hard coat. 1.3 isn't very big, that's the point

What's the heat buildup like compared to a gen1?

There is more given the same factors just due to it being closer to the barrel. Is it terrible? no but I am not doing full auto multiple beta dumps .

Will the 12" fit an Adams piston system on a 20" barrel? I just bought a standard SS 12" and was curious. I know the on I just bought will fit, but I like the Gen 2 look and some of the features. I may just have to build more!

Will this fit over the Daniel Defense M4 gas system? And does the barrel have to come off to replace with this?
Thanks. |

I am not sure what the hight of those pistons are but these have a very narrow inside diameter to it. I will ask Troy when I see him. These do use their own barrel nut for installation so your factory barrel nut will need to be replaced. They come with the barrel nut and the wrench needed to install it. Thanks, PETE MI |

The original post mentions some minor gunsmithing that is required. Is that in reference to the removal of current parts to get the new barrel nut on and proper torquing of the new nut? Or is their actual metal work involved?
Also, do the screws for the accessories/rail sections thread directly to the HG or is their backing nuts that go inside the HG? Thanks |

This referring to changing the barrel nut. the screws go directly into the hand guard.

Thanks, Pete. If you throw in a wrench for these, you should throw a jam nut wrench in for the old SS series! I am going to be buying another pretty soon, and I borrowed one for my first install. It would be nice to have one in the toolbox.
I like the SS free float. Light, strong, and you can put rails right where you want without having them interfere with your grip or snag on things. I think I will end up getting that for my next piston build. |

Sure when you buy the wrench we can throw it in the box also. Thanks. Troy. Mi.

They look fantastic. Any chance of carbine or midlength versions coming soon?

I have asked once before and I hate to, but I will ask again....
Where do you stand on the 15" rails? I knew there would be a wait and I am notoriously an impatient person. Early and mid Feb have come and gone. I would like an update. Thanks very much. |

The 15 inch models are getting lasered on Monday. Now you can go to the back of the line.

You do receive a tool to tighten the new barrel nut with the handrail. A standard armorer's wrench also works well for installing and torquing the barrel nut. My Lady finished the build of her mid-length lightweight system. Total weight with a Burris Tac30 is 7.4lbs.

Hope you enjoy it, I would love to see a picture! PETE MI |

As of Thursday we will be putting two machines on 12 and 15inch lengths to get ahead of the curve. We will then do10,9,7 in that order. Thank you all for being patient and for those of you that are not you can go to the back of the line.
