Palmetto State Armory has partnered with Innovative Arms of Elgin, SC to bring to market the W.A.R upper receiver. The upper will be on display at the 2012 SHOT show and will be available exclusively through Palmetto State Armory.
The W.A.R. is Innovative Arms patent pending upper receiver, created for direct impingement AR15/M16 rifles. Designed to give extreme advantages to the operator, every detriment of suppressed firing of these rifles is now virtually eliminated. Switching to the suppressed mode of your W.A.R. upper turns your weapon into a new beast. Turning to the suppressed mode from unsuppressed, you will immediately feel your rifle shooting smoother. The “blow back” in your face is almost non existent. No more burning eyes and choking gas. Your weapon has now become an average of 2 -2.5 DB quieter at the shooters ear with Innovative Arms silencers or other quality silencer brands. Your weapon will not only be shooting quieter but also cleaner. With less fouling and heat, the accelerated wear and tear that was once a standard issue is now a non-issue, giving your suppressed Black Rifle the longevity it deserves. ETA: The additional DB reduction is a major reduction in action noise to the user. There is no additional reduction of DB at the muzzle. The W.A.R. is designed for the modern Warfighter and is to be fired only in conjunction with quality 5.56mm ammunition. Available now! We'll have to do it at the first of the month next month. Maybe things will calm down a bit. Besides, I looked all over Walmart last week and couldn't find a penguin. I need to get that detail taken care of. lol
Will this be offered in a complete upper? Any idea of price range yet?
So it looks like an 11.5" barrel? Is the suppressor permanently attached?
This looks like it could have some LE applications. |

this will be offered as a stripped upper so you can build it the way you want ! awesome product and works great, article to come

Ok 3 question's
1. Does the length of barrel for 5.56 dictate the upper (i.e. or is it continuously adjustable)? 2. Does this have an "off" setting for single shot? 3. Are you planning on making uppers for 6.8 spc, 6.5 G, 300 BLK, etc...? BTW I have been waiting a while for these and I hope eventually a side charging upper is in the works |
This has my attention. When will the upper receiver be available?
Very interested in this. Glad I haven't bought my upper yet....or an Aimpoint T-1 for that matter since they just released a 2MOA version.

The W.A.R receiver is sold as a upper receiver, no barrel, so you can install whatever length barrel you want.

And finally....are there just "suppressed" and "unsuppressed" settings or is an "off" setting as well? If not will it be considered in the future? Sorry for all of the questions...this is exactly what I'm looking for since I can't run a switchblock under a KAC URX rail. |
So it must have its own gas tube, how else would you install the valve onto the receiver? |
I'm just gonna have to send Jamin $25 dollars a month to put in his piggy bank at home or something until I can get one of these. lol

Sign me up ! Nice work. I missed the show due to circumstance . Thanks for all the intel.

Very nice! Will it handle sustained full auto fire? What can is that?
that looks very interesting
I have to try one of these for sure |

I will be picking one up next week for T&E, ill make sure to get all these questions answered from Phillip, Ive seen it in action, he is about to be a rich man, the suppressor in the photo is a grunt mini made by Innovative Arms, I have the Grunt with about 7000 rounds through it and have a few videos floating around here running it on a PredatAR. Last I heard the release date is early 2012 so anytime now, dont qoute me on that. More to come

Been looking for this at the show. What's the booth number? I don't think Palmetto is at the show. |
With the ATF being 6 months behind on stamp approvals that will be hurting sells. If the ATF was around 2-3 months sales in my opinion would pick up.
One question, is the FSB F marked? If so, did they install a .40 colt front sight post? Or do we need to order one for proper sight while using the magpul back up sight? But, looking good. |

The atf wait time hasnt hurt anything, if your going nfa your gonna wait. Also it should be a standard fsb assembly |

Exposed supressor lever. OK for playtoys for the range but definitely not for serious use.

it would be great if PSA offered their lowers without the logo. Personally I never cared for a logo.

Tag, with about 4 more months of waiting for a couple stamps.

Exposed supressor lever. OK for playtoys for the range but definitely not for serious use X2 How is it any different than an exposed lever on a gas block like the Switchblock? On top of that you are more likely to damage something near the muzzle than something on the side of the receiver. No different than having a standard AR bolt release on the side of the rifle... |

Any word on when you guys are looking at releasing these for sale?

So when can I buy one? CC stands ready. Early 2012. We will let everyone know once we have a more accurate release date. |

I'm definitely interested! What configurations will be available with this upper receiver? Would love to get this upper on your mock dissipator if that's at all possible.
Thank you Palmetto State Armory.
If this works as advertised it solves so many problems. The other options require the gas adjustment up near the muzzle and that can also limit your rail options since you need to find rails that are either short enough or cut to provide access to the gas regulator. The W.A.R. solves that problem and I'd definitely be interested in buying one. |
Palmetto state armory didnt produce these, Innovative Arms did. Palmetto state will just be getting the 500-1000 made. after that Innovative arms will be making them availible through numerous dealers
