do you have a side by side with the standard battle grip?

I have an early release of this grip on one of my carbines. I've been using it for about a month now. This is for guys like me who found the original battlegrip a bit too small and preferred a beavertailed grip to lower their hand position and a straighter rearward trigger pull.

The size is a little bigger than the Magpul MIAD medium backstrap, but smaller than the large backstrap. For those of you who have the new Tangodown/USPALM AK grip, this grip is similar in size.

The texture and storage compartments are what we have always seen from TD.

I really like it for a precision/recce/DMR type rifle. I prefer just a little smaller on a carbine, but YMMV.

Hell yeah! I love my regular Battlegrip, but do find it just a tad small. This is a definite must-buy!

Holy crap! Just what the doctor ordered. I love the standard BG, but find it too small (like seemingly many people ) and have instead been using the excellent Sierra Precision grips, which are a bit too large for some uses in addition to being very awkward for my left-handed friends. Love how the Tango Down grips have such a quality feel over the Magpul offerings.

This is great news!

FINALLY!

How do these compare in size to the Ergo? Would these be comparable to the larger MIAD? or Medium?

I Have never used the Ergo, but I feel that The Tango Down BG-17 is Between the MAID Medium and Large inserts, Maybe more towards the large Size but not as big as the large. Its perfect for me which I was a Medium MAID users. I always like the original Battle Grip the BG-16 but always felt it was too small. This is a great grip.

I think I'm gonna have to try one of these... could my myriad of MIADs possibly be de-throned?

I don't know if I would go THAT far. It is extremely optimistic to say that everyone currently running a MIAD or MOE will switch to this grip.

The next fad is certainly nice in the short term, but TD seems to go for long term quality over cool-guy of the month club stuff.

However, this will definitely make a dent in the market for that niche that liked the TangoDown battlegrip but found it too small, or for those that prefer the TD battery storage (I do), or for those that want a grip that is slightly larger than the MIAD midsize backstrap and MOE grip but smaller than the MIAD large backstrap.

The TD fatboy grip fits those niches perfectly.

I am right down the middle. I run a MIAD on one of my carbines and the TD on another gun that will likely end up becoming a recce/DMR rig.
