Looks pretty sweet, but I'm gonna need some serious testimonials before I can justify $109 + shipping.

If it really does reduce recoil and muzzle rise, then it's closer to being worth the money that it would be if it were just another cool looking muzzle device.

Some YouTube demo videos of rifles with and without the device, maybe?
Link Posted: 7/31/2009 6:20:35 PM EDT
Um yea, never heard of you guys so you are going to have to provide some good highspeed video's and what not to prove your claim.
Link Posted: 7/31/2009 6:37:23 PM EDT
Very unique and good looking. I will be very interested to hear how the product performs.

For that kinda money I'd expect to hear statements telling of how it'd been heat treated
& hard chromed. There are too many proven muzzle devices out there by well known
manufacturers for less money. Not a bad looking comp, just too expensive.

The new X-Comp compensator by Black Weapons Armory delivers superior muzzle flip reduction that is unmatched.

can you post the data of yours vs. the other models you compared it to, to reach that conclusion? thanks in advance.

I would like to know if you compared your Comp/FH against the Primary Weapon Systems FSC556, and what would the BATFE classify this as for ban states a compensator or a flash hider.

Select a few members to do some field testing and report back on it's performance. I will try it on my M16 against a A2 and post a video if you like.
Link Posted: 8/2/2009 12:10:55 PM EDT
is it BATF approved for us unfortunate people who are still under the AWB. and like the others have said 110 bucks is a little steep unless this is really that much better than anything else inwhich you need to show us.

I got a chance to try this comp out with Jim over the weekend. All I can say is .... HOLY CRAP this thing is awesome. Less felt recoil than anything else we had out there. And it looks cool too. Guess I know what's going on my next build.

GREAT JOB GUYS!!! I LOVE IT!!!!

It looks like Sabre Defence's shark brake with four short prongs for a flash hider. Cool looking, but does it redirect muzzle blast in your face (as the shark brake)?

Looks great, by great I mean evil as fuck, which is a plus. can't wait to see it in action, that will be the difference.
the tromix brake looks like it will eat your face, then rape whats left. but all that gas in your face sucks.
so far the FSC looks like the best, great flash killer, I'd like to see how these two stack up against each other.

I'm one of the fortunate few who have had a chance to my hands on the new BWA X-Comp. There is no comparison between the FSC 556 and the BWA X-Comp. Not only does the X-Comp live up to it's claim of no muzzle flip but the flash supresion at night is far superior to the FSC 556. The FSC 556 at night looks like an arial bomb going off on the 4th of July...really distracting to the shooter.

The specs, tolerances, finishes, etc will all be mil-spec, and we will have videos out in the future demonstrating the difference between items manufactured correctly, and other commercial grade parts that are sloppy or out of spec.

Also we are working on videos right now. We have some night footage that we need to finish editing and hope to have it up in the next few weeks. We also plan on having full auto comparision videos done in the near future as well (hopefully within the next month).

A video of an FA night shoot would make an awesome testimonial.

It looks a lot like a PWS FSC30 to me. Does not seem very original.
Link Posted: 8/13/2009 9:59:20 AM EDT
It says a lot about a company that does a 1-to-1 knock off of a product and then bad mouths the product that they knocked off. I especially love the shill account from AZ – the 1st and 2nd post ever are in the thread knocking the PWS product.

You may debate and defend the idea, but everyone here can clearly see what you have done. You even knocked off the packaging… holy shit.

Yeah knock offs are no good...

This company colt knocked off this armalite rifle once, always a messed up deal...

muzzle brakes are all fairly similar if anyone noticed, and taking someone elses concept and tweaking it is good, it gives us all more options.

Colt bought the design from Armalite.

But you are right about having more options is good thing. I saw similarities, but face it, the whole "hybrid" comp/FS thing is getting popular.

To beging with I'll come out and clearly state that we're not going to engage in the petty bickering that frequently goes around on this website. We're here to promote, market, and get performance feedback on a product that we have spent time and money to develop.

The Black Weapons Armory X-Comp was designed by the owner of the machine shop we are partnered with based on extensive reasearch of muzzle brakes and other technology in the market. Most muzzle brakes / compensators will inherently look similar because of the way they function. While the X-Comp may look similar to other comps out there it is internally and externally different, primarily in regards to how the internal chamber and vents are designed.

As far as the PWS comparison go, if you ACTUALLY READ the threads we never came out bashing the PWS comps. Multiple people came out asking about the PWS comp, and others that have tested the comp RESPONDED to that. In my opinion the PWS FSC556 is a great comp and I have used them extensively. We do claim however that the X-Comp performs better, and this is not just based on the fact that it is our own brand, but on tests and feedback we have gotten from other users. And yes some people we personally know have used the comps and loved them - thus the postings from Arizona. But maybe you should count the number of other postings that came independently and are not out of Arizona... We wouldn't have released the comp yet if we hadn't achieved what we are claiming.

In regards to the packaging claim, this is rediculous. Yes we use a similar clam shell. Our printing company suggested we use a certain brand and model to fit the comp, and it's pretty much the same thing. To keep the costs as low as possible we found a cost effective clam shell that would fit. Spending more money on a custom clam shell is a waste of money. The print is our own logo, own font, own colors, and the instructions on the back are our own wording and creation. I personally have had my own copywritten works ripped off, so we completely respect copyright law and original works. So yes the packaging looks similar - we wanted to have a nice professional looking presentation, but do you buy a product for the packaging? Oh and lets not forget that most rifles come in the same generic hard case, most accessories come in the same generic box / clam shell / bubble wrap packaging. I could go on and on demonstrating this point but that would be a waste of time.

I appreciate the other posters that have pointed out these same points and understand it.

It is capitalism and competition - if you don't like it you can go join the liberals pushing socialism and pound sand

You are incredibly stupid. You signed up on Arfcom with your real name? One publicly associated with your business?

I totally agree. That's pretty stupid of them to use the Tommy senior's nickname, "the Rompe" for a forum name.

Future note, the next time you want to make a troll account, use it for a while before you shill your own product.

I think Tommy Sr. and Jr. have proven themselves as a totally unprofessional company.

Advice for the Tommy’s; be advise that there are intelligent members (and not sheep) on this forum and trolls/shills will be caught.

Good luck with the poorly attempted knockoff compensator.

It is possible someone outside the company did this to be an ass and cast doubt on BWA. It is possible.

Either way, yeah... the price sucks given its a new company. However the product does look promising.

I will wait for extensive reviews of the product.
