If you did I would love to get some better pics of it than the seller had and also I will want to know who I am cussing you as you beat me to it by minutes.

I hope it is as nice for you as it looked.

I guess I am back to modifying an early SP1 upper to go with my Braceman engraved NoDak Lower. That is unless anyone has an original they want to part with .

Enjoy

Was it a complete upper or just the receiver?  LINK PLEASE?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS
I wonder how I missed it. I routinely search with the phrase "retro 602" and "Colt 602" all the time.

It is an upper only. Started at $500. The pictures show it with the sight and door, but he says he sold them. Search AR parts on GB with and *601 or 602 and it should come up.

Edit - My bad it ended. http://www.gunbroker.com/item/681438701

I had the seller send me additional pics of abrasions and between getting the pics and hitting buy it now I got hornswoggled.

The abrasions looked like it was dropped on concrete but it was jut on the front outside edge of the carry handle and not too bad. I wanted the pics to see the abrasion and also to get a little better sign of life.

I have been kicking myself since last night.

Makes me wonder what a complete 602 upper (Cast FSB/VP 12 barrel, carbon steel tube, no drain HG's) would go for? Minimum of $1200?

Congrats!

I would think more like $2000 minimum, with a nice example maybe hitting $3000 (with correct "C" 602 handguards, early port door, early charging handle, cast fsb, vp 12 barrel, dimpled rear sight assembly, & carbon steel gas tube).  In the last three years I have seen more 601 barrels with cast fsb for sale than actual 602 vp 12 (NOT: M VP 12) barrels with cast fsb.  The same goes for 602 uppers.  I have seen WAY MORE 601 upoers for sale than 602.

Travis DID NOTget the 602 upper, that is WHY he started this thread to see if anyone else here got it.

Wow. Someone got a deal. I paid $400 for my late 602 Upper years ago and it isn't near that nice. I concur about the comparison with the 601. It cost me like 10 times as much to build my 602, although part of that is because I built the 601 before retro was really popular.

I bought something else form that seller and put a second in line request. Anything is possible right?

M VP 12 marked barrels are not correct for 602s?

No.  A 602 would have a VP 12 marked barrel.  According to the books, Colt started adding an "M" next to the "VP" at the same time 602 production ended.

Yes, I won it. I would be happy to share pictures when I get it. I was bummed it was stripped, but am glad to own it. Yes it's expensive, but I don't see prices going down any time soon ??

Congrats Tulizzy

I mean I could still see your dust when I went to buy it now.

I hope it is as nice as it appeared.

Do you have a VP barrel with cast FSB?
