Historical Firearms got it, with passing reference to M14K.  Probably nothing new to the more advanced retro-heads here.

Cool article, thanks for the post.

Interesting that it looks like it has an aluminum CAR stock that's anodized gray.

It appears to be a dual aperture system.

Looks like all you set is windage.
That barrel is good without a post.
Perfect example of retro PDW for up close work

There were at least three styles of front sights.  One had a post, one was the aperture (non-adjustable), and as I recall there was another that actually had a thin front sight base out in front of the handguard.

This is how I did my aperture (pic below), but I found I had to open it a little more to get the best sight picture.  If the target is beyond 25 yards or so, I can't hit it!

In my design book I have drawn a rectangular aluminum bar with ears on top,  that hold an A1 sight post assy.
Its meant to be welded on the front flat area. Standardizes things a bit.

Awesome!  That pronged flash hider rings like a bell with every shot, too.

I'm glad to see this thread. The article isn't coming up, but the pics of the front sight setup are very helpful.

I have something similar under construction. It's not really a clone because I'm making a few changes for functionality. But it's still going to be retro and look the part fairly well. I'll see about putting up some pics when I get a little further with it.

Well it was working.  Give this a shot:

Try this  It's working now.

If that doesn't work, go to historicalfirearms.info and scroll down till the main article with several pics comes up.

Wrong article, this is the M16K thread, not the DOE thread.
