Hi guys..  I'm doing some research on this rifle for a friend.

Anything special about it?

What should he put the rough value at for his insurance paperwork?

Any other details needed?

Are these collectible enough to leave as is or should he be ok adding mods to it?

Thanks guys.

The upper and pivot screws have been swapped out at some point, its not in original condition. (assuming thats an SP1 lower)

Probably worth ~1300-1700? Looks like it's mostly 70s era Colt SP1 except for the upper itself.

Looks like an SP1 lower that has been fitted with an A1 upper (to my limited knowledge, SP1's didn't have forward assists), but, it has a front push pin, instead of the double headed screw they usually used. Have the front pivot pin lugs on the lower been sleeved?

Also, what is that under the rear sight screw on the left side? Is the detent whole dirlled all the way through?

Are there any arkings on the upper receiver... looks aftermarket, built with a Colt barrel.

The lower is worth around a grand.  The upper is worth the sum of its parts.

I'll see if I can get some more info in the upper.  Appreciate the info all.    He has had this one for a while but does not know a ton about it..  Love the look of these old school rifles.

Please get him a 20-round mag instead of that 30.

I think that is a Norinco (cast?) Upper receiver.
