I've got 2 partial fence lowers on order from NDS. I just finished a  SBR 610 clone . The question is what to build next ? I've currently got a 610, 627 , and a Sp2 carbine. I own nothing with a fixed stock.  going to build a 605 but what to do with the other receiver? I don't own a 20" rifle but at the same time the 607 is the crown jewel of retro in my eye. I just hate the current NFA wait times. So if you didn't have a 20" m16 clone would you rather have that or a SBR 607?

Sorry I can't help you... I gave up along time ago with difficult decisions like that. I just build them all I am a little partial to the Mod 07 though.

Just three simple numbers: 606.

You are most welcome.

One thing is for sure....there hasn't been a better time in a long time to do a 607, due to live4now's prolific production of 607 stocks.  I would do the paperwork on a 607 but build it as a pistol, and wait for the stamp before putting the stock on it.
Who knows, if and when his stocks become unavailable, a golden opportunity will have been lost.

Have you thought about a 608?

I finished my 605 with one of my two that came in. A 608 is were I'm thinking I will use the other. I have an engraved 80% for my 607.

Nothing more iconic than the 603 / m16a1
Never mind see you want partial fence builds.

The gold standard of retro ARs are fixed stock 20" rifles (601, 603, 604).  They're what most of us knew as "an M-16" for much of our lives.

Any retro collection is INCOMPLETE without a 20" rifle.*

The wait times on 607 stocks from Matt is a while too. I'd be inclined to be patient and seek the 607.  Do the form 1 and get inline for the stock.

I love the 604 , first one I ever shot in the USAF, light and handy just right,  just like the m-16 was designed to be.....
