So long ago I got this Bushmaster HBAR, but was never really happy with it. Bad balance, ban gun barrel, etc. I'm doing a retro look on it to refurb it to fun status.

I have an a1 furniture set on order from gunparts, and I thought I'd check in. Do I need a different buffer tube? Currently there is an A2 stock on the rifle.

(BTW, I'm having a bear of a time getting the screw out on that a2 stock, any tips?)

Thanks all!

the tubes are the same

you will have to remove the A2 spacer from the end of the tube and use an A1 length screw when you go to install your A1 stock

Yep, just remove spacer and use shorter screw

Or cut the screw in half. It is half the length.

if you go this route, cut it exactly in half. not just half the threaded portion.

Hopefully the stocks set I have on order from gun parts will have a screw. If not I'll have to go looking for one. Any pointers?

Numnuts won't send you shit.  Someone on here will probably offer to send you one fer free.  If not, Fulton has them for $3.00.

ETA: Brownells has them for $4.00, which I would use since I have "Brownell's Prime."
