Thanks for all who are participating!
I sent out your targets by IM to everybody I had their shipping info on. Details on the "extra gift" being offered by one generous member have been IMed out as well so take advantage of it guys! *** PLEASE KEEP THE DETAILS OF THE SECRET SANTA OFFER CONFIDENTIAL *** as per offerer's request Please let me know if you did not receive your target's info, if you simply don't want that person or if something comes up and you can't follow through and we will figure something out. Merry Christmas all and thanks again! Eric ***ORIGINAL POST*** Well here's the rules as stolen from Jhud and Tumerboy's previous versions. Forgive the blatant cut and paste and thanks guys for your previous ones! " $25 minimum part/trinket value. If you want to go higher, that's your call, but not necessary. This should be fun, and some part you have laying around, just waiting to be the seed of a new build that you don't want to get into at the moment. I'll gather everyone's info, and distribute it out once it's all been collected Rules: 1) Don't flake out 2) IM me your Full Name and Address by 12/01/15 - Title it "Secret Santa" 3) Minimum relative value $25 4) Be cool 5) Do Not Open Until X-Mas! (or thereabouts) Once you've got your SS Target, figure out what you're sending them, package it, and send it off to them. You can mark a return address on the package, and that might give you away to some members, but avoid putting your name, or any other identifying info in or on the package. Remember, SECRET Santa." Of course we can change things around a bit if people have ideas. Here is a link to last years thread so you can get an idea. |

I'd be up for the idea, but it depends what the ground rules are. After another build I don't know how much I have in the way of parts!
Quoted: Hows this work? I might be in for it. View Quote Basically the SS mod will pair us up with another participant and we send them something cool and retro related. There is normally a value cap set so you don't break the bank. you open it on Xmas and post pics. Or something like that... |

Sounds fun
I am in. BTW I would bet you end up, one way or the other, with my cool upper I will get back with you after T-giving. BTW I wish everyone on this board a happy Thanksgiving. I sure know I have much to be thankful for. |
Well I guess this seems to be a done deal since I've gotten four IMs already
I'm trying to figure out a way to keep this blind so I can play along so if anybody has any ideas how to do that please let me know. Short of that I guess I will be an extra "giver" if need be. It will not be a straight exchange of "I give to you and you give to me" but I will mix it up. Please don't forget or wig out when the time comes and if need be let me know if you can't participate when the time comes and you have committed and I will step up if need be. |
This will be fun
I hate to put a limit on someone's generosity but are we going to do an upper limit say like no gift with a value of more than $20,000.00 I mean I could see someone wanting to give an all original Full auto M16A1 but really a factory original XM177e2 or Original 601 would be just way too much. I kid I kid For real this is going to be fun. |
I'm in. Just an FYI I'm the sales manager at Freedom Ordnance not the owner so no you won't get a belt fed upper out of this deal lol
IMs are poring in so looks like a good turnout so far!
Keep 'me coming and still trying to figure out a way to play if anybody has any ideas. If not then I may just pick a person at random to send some of my junk, uh I mean good stuff I don't want hanging around to |

In

Put everybody's name in a hat and pull them out indiscriminately, including yours. You could just have the wife/GF pull the names for you. What the hell man, if we trust you to run the enterprise surely we can trust you to be ethical about it. Just sayin'. I'm in again, by the way. Message so affirming fixin' to be sent. And thank you for honchoing this for us. |

I wasn't worried so much about "picking" who my secret Santa would be but rather how to keep it secret from myself when I'm doing the list.
I'm not sure how to pull this off since I would be IMing somebody my information. Maybe I can call on somebody to send them mine and one other persons info to and two "givers" info and then it would still be a secret but a 50-50% chance and I would not know for sure who it was? Or if nobody cares if I know as long as it's random I can do that too. Let me know what you guys think. If not, no big deal and I sit it out. And now that you guys have all given me your addresses I would randomly send you all a bottle of KY or something from Amazon if I wasn't so lazy |

"Or if nobody cares if I know as long as it's random I can do that too."
Works for me. |
I'm down.
I just rooted through the trough and found a few nice nuggets! |
I haven't gotten mine yet. I'll be gone for two weeks, though, starting the 17th. Hopefully before i leave.
We should be all good guys.
I haven't gotten mine out yet but we have a good group of guys and nobody has IMed me that they had an issue so be patient. The holidays are often crazy for people. On another note, did everybody get the IM on the special offer? Anybody else taking advantage of it? |

Very nice gesture though and even though it's not retro it will probably be of the most interest to registered receiver owners and they're retro.

Hope wrapping wasn't a requirement unless USPS flat rate box counts as gift wrap!

Mine went out today also. Should be 2 day delivery but this time of year who knows?!?
Derp. Fell off the boards for a while, and missed out on SS.
Banshee, glad you picked up the ball and ran with it. Looking forward to living vicariously through others, and seeing what you all get! |

Got mine today. Leaving it unopened until Christmas. Not too hard, since I am leaving town this weekend, and coming back Christmas eve.

Mine went out today.
I also received mine today and I'm a bit scared. The thing has to weigh about four pounds! |
