I enhanced and blew up this pics of an XM16E1 being shown to an Australian Soldier by a US Soldier from the 173rd Airborne. The 173rd was one of the first units issued the rifle in Vietnam.

The one in the middle has a fat bolt release. Looks like a bolt release from a 601. Cool pictures!!

So, are we looking at "B" or "C" stocks.
I can't tell one from the other
