Are all these SBRs? Or does that big weld on flash hider make it legal rifle length?

No it's still under 16".... I think it finishes out at 14".
We used to have a few members who couldn't have
SBRs in their states so they made them as mid lengths.
They looked pretty cool

this was my "no commitment" totally non NFA bolt on reversible 16 inch mid length .

it's long disassembled and scattered on the wind. kept the BCG and 2/3's of the stock.

no commitment because to do the stock right means pretty major surgery , and then afterwards we find out the guide rod's threaded, not pinned, so this isn't right either.

and obviously a 10 inch barrel (not 10.5"!) means a stamp

Anyone got pics of a LaFrance M16K to add here? I think this would be a great place to compare it visually.

Its a WW2 paratrooper jump case.  The M1 Garand broke in two and was slipped inside.  Watch for them on Ebay.  I bought mine from a buddy. These are perfect for the 607.

Notice that every one of Reeds examples are slick sided uppers. A very reliable source informed me that they are all 607 marked lowers (mod 07).......not gov't property marked GX-5857's

Is the flat top upper a .300 BO?

I have been thinking of doing a retro carbine in that caliber.

Make for a nice short suppressed and cool  PDW

Check out the profile of that moderator on the bottom one. Notice also that there are two holes rather than a slot on it and the one above it... I'd love to see closer pictures. I wonder if that bottom one was done as a cutaway to demonstrate the internals of the new moderator to the military?

It does appear to be turned down to expose the chambers.  (Photo courtesy of 04ZREX)

Here is my pistol "poor man's" version:

I have updated to an A1 grip since the pic.  She's fun to shoot, but I may swap out the aperature to an A2 because the small holes on the A1 are hard to see when using the brace at arm's length.
