Putting the finishing touches to my early XM16E1 lower and have a question.

Should the forge flashing be removed from the front mag well lip. Or any other Colt A1 Lower for that matter?



Finally a day off from work for some play time.

Yes,  I feel uneasy about applying too much pressure with the vise squeezing the lower.

That said, the first lower that I machined, the jig slipped in the vise, causing the end mill to commit mayhem.
Therefore, I came up with this solution using the turnbuckles.

Yes, it should be removed. And yes to other A1 Colts.
H&Rs have that little flash at the bottom on the front, just like yours in the photo.
