I have been looking for pictures of rifles used by the US military while in east Africa in the 90's. I have seen a "Black Hawk Down" picture thread before but I can not seem to be able to find it now. When I use Google, all I get are pictures from the movie. I am not looking for pictures from the movie. I want real pictures to see what kind of optics were being used back then.

Thanks

Check the A2 build forum I think it's in there. You can look through this thread going for a 1993 Somalia car15 build and need your help

Where all the rifles that Delta used A2's? I thought they were A1's and maybe 723 or 733?

If you are looking at the red dot optics they used, then you are probably gonna want a Aimpoint 5000.
That model seams to appear in a lot of the photos. It was discontinued in 1998.
They pop up  every now and the in the EE or on one of the auction sites.
The Aimpoint 2000 was the previous model discontinued 1989. Larry Vickers used one in the learly 90's on a 723 with a M4 profile barrel.
I'm not 100% certain if the Aimpoint 3000's were used by Delta.
