The majority of us use Nodak Spud lowers, some use Mckay's. I have both and Nodak's lowers are leagues above everything else quality wise.

I used a Sendra for my A1 build (yes, it's purple in direct sunlight - oh well), and an NDS-01 for my 601 build.

I've had Braceman splice an original demilled M16A1 magwell with the back half of an 80% lower. It costs more to go that route but its cool to have something as close to the original as possible. More collectors are starting to do this and the price of a demilled mag well has really shot up, if you can even find one.

I reprofiled my 80 percent to A1 with CNC. I then engraved it with what I wanted. I then type 2 anodized and colored it old colt grey. Crazy huh

80% is the only way to fly.
I had a fellow member here reprofile and custom hand stamp this Hydramatic 80% lower a few years ago (thank you), just dug it out today. Looks so damn good, hard to tell it isn't roll marked. Gotta get this thing finished up and sent out to Victor for the gold treatment. Been slackin'. 
And my other Hydramatic, a braceman 80% lower.

I also went with an 80% lower, and had braceman reprofile it to A1 contours and engrave it. It's a 9-milion SN range M16A1, built on a 9-mil SN complete parts kit, with US Anodizing finish, and it worked out perfectly.
