So we used to have a thread called girls with retro guns that got archived last year. Apart from the pics it was a good way for the retro forum members to keep up with what was going on with other members and gave us a way to connect on more levels than just retro rifles. In any case I figured i'd at least try to restart the tradition.
Rules: 1) Nothing graphic 2) Should be retro gun related in at least some way 3) It should be a member's SO, family member or friend and all pictures should be posted with their permission. 
This...well this is her war face, it needs work, it looks a lot like her "i'm pissed at you for taking me to the range instead of the black friday sales face"

That K98 is gonna hurt like hell if she shoots it that way!
From the look of it she got dressed thinking she was going shopping and you "surprised" her with the range instead. Pretty fancy for smoke, soot and dirt. Last I seemed to recall I heard was there was possibly some issues with his work and his activity on here? Seems crazy but both he and Farmboy work/worked for the FAA so God only knows. Shame too as he was a nice guy and Blondie was fun too. I spoke with both of them several times in on the phone in the past and calls to him go un returned even. Strangely enough, the first time I was talking to him it some how came up that he works with a friend of mine I was stationed in Korea and Georgia with. Small world. |

. She didn't shoot it. I did and I forgot how much different the recoil was from the rifles I usually shoot. Sore shoulder ! Oops. It grouped beautifully though.

Kalahnikid - I think you have a keeper there! Any girl that can shoot a M1 and claim it as hers is A-Ok in my book. Kind of surprised she did not claim that 1911 at the same time...

The then girlfriend, now wife at the range. For some one who never goes shooting, she held her own. Prior to that the only other shooting she did was at a local airgun club in her home town in Germany. |

It's a shame I don't have a picture of Susan, but she was pretty camera shy. This whole retro mess is her fault because she got me interested in shooting.
She used to sit on the toilet ( clothed, clothed !!!) and snipe squirrels out of the bird feeder with a Stevens 14 1/2 Little Scout that was her Grandmothers. And she was deadly with that thing. She also got a groundhog with it! You can't get too much more retro than a 1930's vintage Little Scout. Susan was a remarkable woman, may she RIP.

Well I don't have a decent back stop yet but if yall bring a payloader I got 30 yards of dirt at the front of the property that needs to find it's way to the back! 
I have 75ish yards carved out but need to do a lot more clearing to have a decent width for the range. Now let's see some more nice ladies with retro rifles!

Thanks buddy! Really glad I married a gal that loves shooting. Have you tried BRP Guns? They have full MG42 receivers for $1400, as well as repair sections. Geez man, it's been a long time!! I just hit 7 years this past September. Made my E5, on another "trip" right now, and going back to jump school next year (injured my legs there earlier this year, slotted for April 16 now). Trying to get a slot for Air Assault before that. |
