I have had a NDS-XM16E1 on since June 2015. Harlan says that I may or may not get it this month. I have several others in front of me. Generally, six months is about the norm, give or take a month. Nonetheless, they are well worth waiting for.

I ordered two lowers in March, a black A1 full fence and a gray A1 full fence. I received the black one back in august and I'm going to pick the gray one up today. They are worth the wait, it's part of the fun and anticipation. Just think of it as retro foreplay, like sex....

By the end of October we expect to fill and ship on orders taken through mid to late June for gray NDS-16A1 full fence lower receivers.
We expect to do a batch of black anodizing in early November to fill the orders for black NDS-6A1 lower receivers. A good number of orders have been taken since June for gray NDS-XM16E1 partial fence lower receivers, and we will work to get these filled in November and December. We will complete a machining run of NDS-16A1 lower receivers from forgings by the end of October, and these will go through processing and finishing to fill the order from July to the present. I can't say when we will get caught up with orders for gray NDS-16A1 lower receivers, but our current emphasis is on getting NDS-16A1 lower receivers through prep and gray anodizing for the orders we have taken. We will process NDS-601 slick side lower receivers through anodizing as needed. Generally we have no more than five pre-orders for gray NDS-601 lower receivers before we send some through for anodizing. We just got in an anodized batch of gray NDS-16A1 (full fence) lower receivers, and we graded quite a few as cosmetic BLEMs. The shade of anodizing varies, with some areas darker, and some areas lighter. This variation will not affect function. We have priced these with a $10 discount from regular price. I just sent in my order for a black anodized NDS-16A1 lower. This one is going to be SBR'd and is a replacement for the A2 lower I have on my Mk18 CQBR build.

My commercial gun looks almost exactly like yours. Edited to add pic. Left is commercial build with refinished(black)upper from Apex on black NoDak lower. The rifle on the right is a complete surplus upper with grip and complete stock kit I bought here in the EE on a gray NoDak lower.

We filled orders this week from a batch of gray anodized NDS-16A1 and NDS-XM16E1 lower receivers, and we are now up to orders taken in mid-June. We have another batch of gray NDS-16A1 and NDS-XM16E1 lower receivers at the anodizer, and these are expected back to us by 11/20/2015. Once this batch of anodized receivers is inspected, we will notify customers whose orders we can fill. The next batch of lower receivers going out for anodizing is for black NDS-16A1 and black NDS-XM16E1 lower receiver pre-orders. We expect to have these back by early December. Harlan NoDak Spud LLC |

All will be filled before we indicate available inventory status on the website. It looks like we will machine 603 upper forgings in January, 2016 for the pre-orders. I got an e-mail from Harlan yesterday saying that my XM Gray NDS-XM16E1 lower was ready. This order was placed on 6/24/15. I talked to Harlan this morning and I asked about the black NDS-16A1 I have ordered and he said it should be ready around Thanksgiving.

Well, my NDS-16A1 grey came in today, right at 5 months from order to door. Worth the wait, as always. Now to get the FSB pinned to the GM barrel and get it all together with my M16A1 kit once I pick up the semi-auto parts, a pair of hammer and trigger pins, and a gas tube pin. Would I be pelted with rocks 'n garbage around here if I swapped out the birdcage for a 3-prong flash hider and a "D" stock for the trap door "E" type one?
(I will keep the other parts but I just like the earlier look better) Either way; looking forward to getting another retro AR again.

Other than a few customers who have not yet responded to a question of whether or not they still want a receiver, we are at the end of June orders for gray NDS-16A1 receivers, at the end of July orders for NDS-XM16E1 receivers, and at the end of October orders for NDS-601 receivers. The next batch of receivers coming back from anodizing will be for orders of black NDS-16A1 and black NDS-XM16E1 receivers. This batch should be back us within the next two weeks. The following batch going out for anodizing will consist of NDS-16A1, NDS-XM16E1, NDS-601, NDS-604 uppers, and NDS-15U uppers for gray anodizing. This batch should be back to us later in December. We are out of stock on gray NDS-603 uppers receivers until February, 2016. For those who have combo orders in for both a gray lower and a gray NDS-603 upper, we will be sending out an offer to split ship the order, or the customer can tell us to hold the order until we can send a fitted set of the lower and gray NDS-603 upper. We will not have more black NDS-603 uppers until February, 2015, at the earliest. We are still taking pre-orders for NDS-51 (M16A1 type) receiver blanks, which should be ready by the second week of December. Once we have these ready, all those who pre-ordered will get a notification to re-confirm the order. The batch of receivers that were expected to be black anodized turned up to be gray anodized. This will mean a delay of processing for the black anodized receivers orders. We expect to get black anodized receivers about the middle of December. Those with orders for black anodized receivers have been notified. The arrival of more gray anodized receivers has allowed us to get to some August , 2015 orders for NDS-16A1 and NDS-XM16E1 receivers. We have some BLEM gray NDS-16A1 receivers available. These are cosmetic BLEMs and will not have an effect on function. Those who have pre-orders for gray NDS-16A1 receivers can call us at 952-942-1909 to line up for BLEM gray NDS-16A1 receivers.
