Accumulating parts for a possible SBR 733 commando type. What is the features of the earliest 11.5 inch barreled commandos with birdcage? What serial number range did these have???

A1 upper, no shell deflector, coated aluminum stock, maybe A1 lower, everything else should be A2.

So, a2 grip? Gonna stick with a1 birdcage though. Thanks

Found another  LM forge code upper. Would this be ok as far as a could be assembly by government at one time or other?

Yep, A2 grip, 1/7 rifling, A2 compensator, Delta ring, A2 front sight base/post.

I like the birdcages too.

I've seen flat slip rings on a few in images. I think they look better.

Wouldnt these have had the fiberlite stocks rather than the aluminum?

Likely wasn't an original 733.  These were part of the A2 series "improvements" that defined the A2 series.

Mix as Colt used up the aluminum stocks.

Here's what I am envisioning.

Would this be a fantasy piece?

That's the quintessential 733- A1 lower, fiberlite stock, "C7" upper.  The bayonet lug is rare, but they were made with them at times.

Looks awesome; one of my SBR's is set up just like that with a 733 upper I found a few years ago.

You've nailed it right there. I could put a flat ring on it and it'd look better to me though.  I'll have to think about it. First search is a .625 at fsb 11.5 lightweight barrel.
