Anybody have any good close-up pics of a real Colt Commando marked lower receiver ,live or demilled, they can share with me?  Interested in the layout of the markings mainly on the mag well and the serial number range.  Any help is greatly appreciated.   Semper Fi  Kenneth

Look under the carbine section at retroblackrifle.com.  There's pics of commando lowers.

Interesting rifle you have there......when was it manufactured? I've never seen an "AR-15" marked select fire gun with the "Colts Firearm Division" mfgr. markings

Is it an "Export" model thing?

The form 2 was dated 1972 and it left Colt in 1972. My AR-15 model 639 has the same marking but I never bothered doing a FOIA request to check the dates.

The first xm177e2s to hit vietnam were 900,000 range.  Does that mean colt built 3.5 million guns in 6-7 years?

Love the Commando. My favorite variant I think.
