Looki n g to use a general purpose strap for an XM177E2 when i get it finished. Anyone have a photo handy of a rigged GP sling on an XM177E2?

I used a M14 OD nylon wen sling on mine.

A real deal pic, but not attached the way we typically do around here. It appears to be the only pic with a GP sling I have saved.

FWIW from a historical perspective:  I just looked through 121 Vietnam pics saved in my CAR15 folder and most had either M1 or web 1918 BAR slings (hard to tell the difference in the pics, most of the SF and High Speed types were using these also), some had what appeared to be rubber surgical tubing, some were parachute cord, others had unidentifiable improvised web slings, one guy had a length of G.I. rapelling rope.

So, I take that I'll need to cut the clips off, and get hold of some para cord..........Thanks for the pictures..........

I think I'm going to actually use the front swivel..........

What you do is, cut off the clips, cut a piece off of paracord run it through the front and sew it together than glue it. That will be the part you run through the front sight and itself, on the other end you just run it through the buttstock and then tie a knot.
