.625??? (desc for the barrels say .750, Q&A for this barrel says .625, Q&A on midlength suggests older stock is .625 so these may be newer stock and .750), M4 barrel extension, no HG cap, barrel nut or front sight parts.
price is right for a quality carbine barrel. perfect for a 607 since there isn't a HG cap you have to swap out. http://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/barrel-parts/rifle-barrels/16-lightweight-carbine-5-56-barrel-1-7-twist-sku100009472-41976-103017.aspx |

looks like they dropped the price another $40 from the time i posted. that's a great price for a quality barrel.

FYI, it does say .750 at the gas block in the overall description of the 16" barrels.

[#5]
yeah but in the Q&A for that particular barrel. but from another profile, it states that it may change so i guess it's a crap shoot at this point if these are old stock at .625 or new production at .750.
Question 3/5/2014 It says .625 OD at the gas block, Would a .625 inside diameter gas block work for this barrel? Answer 3/14/2014 Yes, it will. Brownells from Montezuma, IA Question 6/3/2013 What is the OD of the barrel at the gas port? Scott from Ohio Answer 6/28/2013 SPECS: 4150 chome-moly-vanadium steel, manganese phosphate finish, matte black. Leightweight models have .625" O.D. at the gas block. Brownells from Montezuma, IA |
|
[#6]
I remember DD barrels coming up in another thread, they said they discontinued the .625 diameter at the gas block and all future runs will be .750, not sure when it happened though.

I bought one of the DD 14.5" lightweight barrels from Midway when they closed out the discontinued version with the .625 diameter gas block. I intended to use that for a XM build, but now I'll probably use the 16" barrel instead (since it will be cut down anyway) and use the 14.5" for something else. Thanks for posting, L. |

Damn you guys! I need to stay away from this forum. I'm hopeless. Just got the C7 upper a few days ago that DPMS is blowing out cheap. Which I "needed" like a hole in the head. Now, I see this thread...and it was all over in a 5 minutes... I..I..just couldn't help myself. Such a nice barrel and all... lol

Just got off the phone with them asking about the diameter of barrel at the gas port. The guy "thought" they would be .625 on a lightweight barrel, but said he could go pull a barrel from the warehouse & look.
"It is .750." was his reply after getting back on the phone. |

Mine arrived today (3 days from order w/free shipping!) and appears to be .625". The batteries are dead in my electronic calipers, but using them and a ruler I get 5/8", not 3/4". The un-drilled front site base in my parts box, which is supposed to be .625", fits perfectly.
Consider me a happy camper. |

Broke down and ordered one this morning. Used the promo code and saved $15 though! Came to $152.94 on the rim and out the door! It's a sickness I tell you! A SICKNESS! I didn't NEED one! Now I have an "extra barrel" floating around and that's not good! (for my wallet) I keep thinking this place is the AA meeting when it's really the bar! |
