Hello,

I was wondering if anyone knows anything about this buffer tube?  Its a three position.

I was going to use it for my Colt Model 653 clone build.  I know the Model 653 is supposed to have a two position buffer tube, but was wondering
if this one will work.  I need to find someone to park it for me of course.

You can't parkerize aluminum.  Looks like a late 70s or early 80s era telestock, from the period when 3 positions were introduced until the 4, 5 and 6 position craze started in the 90s and later.

It will work just fine in place of a 2-pos stock, and most won't know the difference.  The telestock nut and latch plate look period correct.

Don't know if you have the stock yet, but some of those 3 position tubes were commercial size (Bushmaster for example).  Might want to check it first.

Ah-ha............yea.  I do have one aluminum stock.  I will post a picture of it below.  It fits perfectly with this buffer tube.
I am on the lookout for another one as well........have not gotten there but I will need two.  As I am building  Model 653 and a XM177E2 clone.

That looks like a commercial tube because the OD of the threads and the tube are the same diameter.

Thanks, might very well be.  I am new to the whole AR thing.......sort of... I consider myself an AK builder here.  LOL

Mike, I spoke to you yesterday (monday) about building this XM clone for my Father.......in honor of him.

So, I plan on getting one your two pos. buffer tubes for the XM build.  I just need to find a place to get an Alum rear stock like this in mil-spec to match it.

I am planning on using this buffer tube with the alum stock I already have for a Model 653 clone build for me.  )

Thanks
Spence
