Trimdad can we get some range pics of this thing when you do get it out? I'm interested in pics of the muzzle flash and your opinions on the report of this thing.

It looks to me as if the gas tube is exposed for a few inches where it exits the short handguard, then enters the gas block. At first I thought it was the fold down FS, but it shows up better in one pic than the other - it must be the angle of the shot. I would think the right lo-pro gas block with a flip up sight mounted (the hard part) ahead of the gas port, with a stainless spacer would get you close. I am guessing the HGs are Delrin, and basically a FF tube. In practicality, using it with those short HGs is going to really suck. Wear gloves! It is a cool thing for sure. I sure would like to know what happened to this proto - I like the fact that a regular 603 upper could be used.

I think it is the flip up sight i see not the gas tube. I like the idea of use of a 603 upper and having sights.

I did too at first, but look at the length of the flip-up sight in the lower pic, then look at the upper pic. I blew it up and it's got to be the gas tube. It also lines up with the gas port - I can't imagine they came up with a different gas setup. I think the flip up sight has been removed for some reason in the upper pic.

ETA: Also note that you can see three vent holes in the top and bottom of the handguards in the usual place, in the one pic.

Well squeezed in a little range time, took three retros out
To make sure they all run ok since they were built or rebuild.
Including the 231

So I know what your thinking ..... Damn ! Trim is a crappy shot !
Well with a armson OEG... Ya I am. My eyes and that sight just don't
Get along. If I were really trying  ,because of the phoria effect ,I could have cut a perfect horizontal line across
The target  . I could probably win a range bet or two $.

Anyway , all weapons ran perfectly.
The 231 is a different animal  , it's load , and to get your cheek
On it you have to bury that metal stock into your shoulder.
And don't let your hand slide off those small handgaurd-burn !
Don't get me wrong... I'm not complaining , it's a blast to shoot
And  it earned a " dude .... What is that ?" From the range owner .

Thanks for posting Trimdad! I can only imagine how different that thing is to shoulder lol! If you ever get in action shots I'd love to see those too. But if not then no worries.
