All Colt except the lower as well.  I wanted to go for one of the anything-goes era Colts, so it has a step-cut barrel, Colt C7-style upper, A2 grip, A1 lower, and original version receiver extension nut.  Barrel is an original non-F FSB Colt.  A2 FH permanently attached in front of a CNC Warrior Jam Nut by JT.  I've got an ARMS mount, but I am still looking for an Aimpoint 3000 or 5000, and an original weapon light to go on it.  This one's been in the works for awhile as I have been finding correct parts, so I'm glad I finally get to shoot it this weekend.

Bottom pic is it along with it's 653 older brother.  It's sporting one of Bubbaguns barrels.

Tits. Both of them. I am so envious I can't tell you. Not only are they retro, but they are effective weapons that anyone would be proud to carry. Just can't figuer which one I like more...

Very nice.  The 723 is my favorite model.

Very nice job.  Those are great little carbines.  Light, simple, and most effective.

Looks like the GAU-5 I carried years ago.  Mine didn't have the brass deflector and had an A1 grip.  Nice shootin' iron you got there.

Took the brothers for a spin today, and the newest member of the family exceeded my expectations.  I had to give it two clicks of left windage, and it was dead on at 25m.  I'll take it.

I like it, round forward assist and all. Always liked the BHD era's practical looking rifles.

I came across a few photos on another site.  I think they're from Panama, 1989/1990.  Not Hi-Res, but lots of 723s.

this is an ops can on a 14.5" 727

you can probably get the same look with a 16"

I know, there is also a 14.5" with 3rd in the last picture above my post...it just grows on me.  A 16" inch barrel would not go up against te FSB, unless a one off collar is made...but i plann on sticking with 20" anyway, cuz it will be lower pressures for the can...i would rather use a 12, or 16 with a mizzle brake on shorter barrels since suppressors are lifelong purchases...

Nice 723 build. I am working on one myself. Lower assembly is done. I am waiting for the 14.5" BCM barrel, Bushy A2 upper receiver, and a used Colt BCG to arrive this week. I have all the small pieces already. Hopefully, by next Friday it will be complete.

Notice the guys taking a knee in front.  Guy on left has a MAG58 with 7.62 NATO cloth bandoliers hanging from him, as well as a stainless 1911 with wood grip panels in an old school leather shoulder holster.  Guy next to him has an early 5.56 FN M249 with the aluminum stock.  He appears to have the old night vision mount bracket on top of the SAW feed tray cover, with an Aimpoint attached to it.  That mount was horrible.

I see several fabricated chest harnesses, old LBV's mixed with LC-1 ALICE gear, Pro-Tecs, Tac lights mounted under the handguards, old Aimpoints, etc.  I suspect these pics are from the Mountain Hacienda raid that Noriega never went to.  LAV said he used a MAG58 on that operation, and during the rehearsals, his sling melted when he laid it over the barrel.

Looks great! I put together this 723 clone a couple of years ago from a Colt 6520, had the barrel cut to 14.7, with Aimpoint 3000. It was stolen in a burglary in May.
