Sorry m1sniper. My CRS doesnt allow me to remember most of it. Nodak upper that i removed flashing, removed windage arrow, reprofiled area below port door to match lower, and drilled hole for port-door spring. Nodak lower, HeatnBeat port door, windage drum, safety selector, bolt release. Nodak charge handle. Nodak waffle mag. I used Norrells moly-resin on all parts, including upper and lower. 1-12 pencil barrel (forget where i got it). Original 601 carrier and "P" bolt. Bolt was missing extractor, so Young Manufacturing sent me one. I did the faux finish on the furniture, still need to work on the buttstock though. John Thomas flash hider. I forget where the grenade spring came from. I made the grips on the bayonet out of some Dutch m4 grips. Still need a rear take-down pin and a "no drain hole buttstock screw. And, the ft sight was a run of the mill that i kinda-re-profiled as best possible. Really appreciate the comps guys.

Hang on. So you're saying, basically, that pretty much everything here except the BCG and grenade spring is repro stuff??
Ol' son, that's a damn nice job!
With everyone talking about the high price of original parts, this just proves there are alternatives. Well done!
I think any old AR15 accessory marked with the "Armalite" brand is cool...or AR10 stuff marked "AI"!

Very nice rifle.
Handy little carbine. The M44 is a combination flash bang grenade, flame thrower, rifle and spear all in one.

Nice looking build, but why is there a gap between the pistol grip and the lower?

Melvin, I really dont know. I just ran upstairs to look at my other AR,s and Two of the Six that i own have the same gap. It never really bothered me enough to look into what causes it. Maybe just the grip? Ive got probably a dozen other grips, maybe this weekend i,ll experiment to get to the bottom of this phenomenon. Anybody else know exactly what causes this?

Had me fooled on the bayo except I didn't see any stampings on it. Could have been the pics but they sure look better than my $200 2 megpixel Nikon from 12 yrs ago. It still works but I caught three Owls in the backyard the other night and can't do much with them even using photo editor. Shoot me your address and I'll send you a no drain screw! Might not ship until later next week. Gonna keep my dimple take down pins for now.

Never had the gap on a pg guess I lucked and I have some real suspect lowers. Oh yours looks a lot better than mine. A-2 lower and 604 upper. Not as nice a paint job either. I may have more original parts but who would even know besides you and those you told.

+1 although I am pretty envious of RRIggs collection of retros and a hot girlfriend as well ! Some folks have all the luck.
