Ok,.....called Colt.  It's a factory SP1 carbine, original condition.
I would say 98%.......MINT! Doubt it's had more than a few thousand
rounds fired. Five preban mags included.
Internals are mint, no M4 cuts.

Nice pickup!

I have only seen four of them that I recall in years of being around gunshows and I bought two of them. It's everything a carbine should be...simple, light-weight and handles great. I think you're gonna love it!

Is that a forge mark on the right side of the upper, just in front/above the ejection port?

That's the Colt factory proof mark.  "C" in a square or "Box C"  there's another proof mark there that's not easily visible.  VP or "Verified Proof".  If you know exactly where to look in that photo you can see it barely.  It's in the vicinity of the Box C.

Very nice late production SP1 carbine. I can assure you, from the lack of wear, it hasn't had a few thousand rounds fired. Maybe a few hundred. Good find.

the "V" is there.....very hard to get a pic of.
