Sent that as a dxf file to Ident to see how much to have it engraved.

Well, a Rampant Stallion it isn't, but it does have character.
Does this illustration hold a hidden meaning..? Maybe something like the end of the colt .mil contract is coming...?? |
Suit yourself. Personally, I draw the line at Klashnakitty....
I think that's pretty cool. |

Are you for real going to build a "My Little Pony" M16A1 clone? Why not go all out and paint it pink and white.....maybe throw some rhinestones on there. Maybe some fuzzy pink stuff on the furniture?
Hey you could even reload some 5.56 with hugs instead of bullets. Kill em with kindness is what they say isn't it? Just razzin ya a bit, but I'm still scratching my head on this one. |
That scene from 'Frankenstein' when the peasants storm the castle?
We Prancing Pony boys will be coming for you! Moon |

I have a friend who is seriously into the whole Brony thing. I have another friend who is an uber Colt purist. It just springs naturally from my demented mind with those starting conditions. Besides, if we can't poke fun at ourselves... It looks like it's going to be small enough that someone is going to have to really look to see that it's not the real Colt rampant mare. |

Awesome! I've been thinking about doing that for years - would love to see it actually done.

Got the sample art back from Ident. http://inlinethumb57.webshots.com/50680/2059534240041331668S600x600Q85.jpg Waiting for the price quote. I will do this and have it coated pink. Oh, no you've ruined me.... |
Quote is $85!
I am certainly doing this to one lower, maybe two. It's small enough that you have to really look to see it. Kinda like an inside joke. |

I'll let them know that they can let anyone use it.
They didn't say one way or the other what the assumption is about ownership of the art. I'll claim ownership, but let anyone use it freely as a firearm logo. Someone makes t-shirts and I demand a free XXL in payment. The original pony was generated with an online app that exported a png. I imported that into AutoCAD and traced it then added the lances and cutie mark. Not rocket science by any means. |
since you got the mohawk / usc trojan marching band thing going, you should make the lances twirler's batons.
The app was a pick and choose things and the mohawk was the closest to the Colt's mane. Like 200 choices in hair, as befits something aimed at a 9 year old girl, but only two that looked like you'd find on a real horse.

You do know that Mattel makes the my little pony line of toys.
Coincidence? I don't think so |

I think that CJan_NH would get a kick out of this. Well, it took me a while but I finally saw this thread. Brother, you are going to cost me some money. Both my wife and my daughter are saying "Where's MINE?" Good work OP! |
Between this thread and the Mattel logo thread, I believe retroland is in need of real help.
Having said that, there is definitely some merit to both ideas. And I may have to have one of each inscribed on a lower. |

Wow, that looks great
Of course, now my excuse of "lets see what it actually looks like on a rifle first" to my girls is now null and void One thing I was wondering about from an earlier post in this thread: what exactly is a "cutie mark"? Outside of my daughter's little pink horse on my rifle I don't know a helluva lot about it. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

Looks great!
CJan, I think the "cutie mark" is the little Colt "C" on the pony's hind leg. |

Are there any powders that you can reload with that will blast rainbow colors instead of just fire orange?
OMG! The beginning of the end........I think this is the wrong forum for that! Sam Colt is rolling in his grave.

This is my revenge for all the little things they screwed up on their ARs playing political correctness and discontinuing the Anaconda.

Some serious bragging rights I would guess. |

Some serious bragging rights I would guess. Oh, it's out there. My Brony buddy is definitely bragging about it. It starts simple. You watch some of the fan made stuff on YouTube. Then you watch the episodes that were referred to. Then it all flies off the tracks! It helps that the show was designed so that the parent wouldn't go insane with their kids playing it in continuous loop. There's some stuff hidden in there for the grown-ups, like the main characters from The Big Lebowski as ponies in a bowling alley. More than a couple Benny Hill references, strangely enough. |

LOL..the Cutie Mark cinched it.
I wouldn't know ANY of this if it weren't for CJan's avatar and the "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" thread/debacle. Pure, unadulterated WIN!!!! |
