I edited and reposted in the other non-stickied KISS picture thread. I never saw that, and didn't want to post in the A2 retro pic thread.

I would swear it looks shorter than my XM177 style upper that has a permanently welded 5.5" slat moderator that is 16.25" OAL, but I guess photographs can be deceiving. |

Can you give an about worth amount as of today's pricing and there demand in the retro market, Thank you Assuming the matte finish one is plastic, and the glossy one is powder coated aluminum, and assuming you are just talking about the stock without the buffer tube assembly as well, then I would say $25 and $50, respectively. If you are talking about the complete stock assembly (with buffer tube), then $50 (matte plastic) and $100 (glossy aluminum). Plastic CAR stocks are still pretty easy to find on the web with a few keystrokes and mouseclicks, but aluminum ones are getting much harder to find than they were ten years ago, and price is going up. |

It's more of a 607-ish clone. it looks a lot like the new "607" retro Colt is supposed to field in 2013. |

I'd like to change it but I've seen so many threads about guys breaking their lowers trying to install/change trigger guards that I'm a bit hesitant to do so.

I don't know how that is possible, but I'm telling you, it's very easy to change the trigger gaurd. You're hard part is finding a small enough allen wrench to take the magpul one off. Once you remove the allen screw and punch out the roll pin, the standard goes back in easily. Install the roll pin end first. |

So I'm guessing that is an A2 grip you removed the finger bump on?

Looks like the online store is down due to back orders, but if anyone wants one I'm sure you could email Accurate about one. |

I"ve been collecting parts for this for a few years now, it started with an upper receiver AFSOC_COP sold me on the EE. I really like the upper receiver but wasn't sure what to do with it. My original plan was to make a partial fence 80% lower for it, have it anodized to the same color and build it into a 604 replica. I'm not really into carbines but when I saw the Air Force carbine page on retroblackrifle.com I thought I would try to replicate one. I was going to proceed with the 80% and anodizing and manually re-stamp the lower with "GUU" (I'm still not too clear on what it should be stamped) but when I found this lower receiver at a local show I just used it instead. The lower receiver has an interesting story, it is the 1st lower a local firearms manufacturer put together in their college dorm room. The barrel was something I "bought it now" on GB right at the outset of the latest panic so I didn't do too bad on it. It looks like the seller makes their money by putting the FSB on himself and there is this annoying "Duty Rifle" laser etched on the barrel that was not in the listing. I was going to hide the logo by touching the hot barrel to a black plastic bag and burying it under a blob of plastic goo. (Has anyone done this before?) All the other parts came off the EE, and I bought the 1957 marked strap for the sling at a show for $1. Sadly this is my most expensive build and I don't have a gas tube yet and had to borrow the flash hider for the picture.
I'm not sure if the sling matches the rest of the parts and my original plan was to put a really worn birdcage flash hider on it, what do you think? I''ve been using pictures like these for ideas. ETA: Hand guards came from Kaiserman, thanks! |
