MKay, I took the plunge.
I was kind of disappointed at the look of my clone (lower, basically) and just went and bid on an actual SP1. Enough is enough (couldn't find a proper lower, all the colors seemed off etc. etc.). These are the seller's images, reproduced here with permission (and gun already paid for). Waiting on shipping AND 10 days background check to clear. New photos soon. Since I live in California, I had to reject shipment of that SP1 up there and get a refund. It's banned by name here in California. I didn't know that when I purchased it. I freaked out when I came to know what the outcome of this could have been. That stuff simply can't enter California.
So got a refund and got me this. I was real sad, now no more. A full Nodak Spud brand new upper and lower, model 601 (non-trap door). This is at least legal (and between us, it looks great - hopefully it'll shoot great, too; 10 days background check started today). Nodak Spud M16A1 by SoloDallas, on Flickr |

It's "worse" than it was in Italy, for absurd it may sound. But there wasn't a firearm "banned by name" there. Never heard of this, it was the first time for me. I am not sure of what to think. Better not to think much of this. I wouldn't want to sound like I am complaining, as it's too soon for me. Just got here, though I was born here a long time ago, I haven't grown up here. I won't complain, I will just enjoy what I can |

You seem like a good guy, with a good attitude, however since you ARE an American, and there are things that can and should be done.
Some won't even consider doing anything .... and that's really sad. It's your right to complain, and the situation out there is totally unacceptable. No way I could live like that. Anyway, under the circumstances, I guess you're lucky to own that nice rifle. Good luck. |

It's just too soon for me to start complaining. I don't think I've earned it, if that makes sense to you: I need to be here (and I want to die here, just like I was born here, Dallas, TX class '68) longer than just a year to earn my right to complain about things. If I did it earlier - I feel - I would be just like one of those one-too-many pussies that open their mouths at any chance to speak bad about this country (or state, or city, ... ). I want to be different. I want to be a classic American like the ones I have dreamed about when I was just a kid, dreaming about America (the USA) from Italy. That's what I have in mind. Work in progress. Be well, Fil (Phil) |

There's a reason the 2nd amendment follows the 1st. That's because if you plan to speak your mind, you'd better be ready to end a motherfucker who takes offense enough to come kill you for it.

Thanks. I've had some luck with finding barrels. I couldn't afford to just pay gunbroker prices.
I have an MPC and a CMPC that I need to find something to do with too, but I just wanted to take a picture of the pre '67 barrels. |

Hambrabai, Those Old Palmetto Armory Lower Receiver's are some very nice Early Milled ones that I think were produced by SGW. I had one back around '85 or '86, can't remember, but it was a great receiver, and I wish I still had it. |
