How well does Thordsen tube cover and cheek rest fit on a Mil Spec carbine buffer tube? Their site says it will fit both mil spec and commercial tubes. Since the mil spec is 0.020" smaller diameter, does the Thordsen fit loose, or can it be cinched up to fit a mil spec tube tight?

I used Thordsen's keyed buffer tube, so I haven't tried it on any of my milspec buffer tubes.  The instructions say it will tighten down on any tube from 1.16" to 1.18".  Smaller tubes can use a wrap of electrical tape to take up the difference.  Since milspec tubes are a nominal 1.148" you may need to used electrical tape for a solid fit.

BTW the Keyed Buffer Tube is very nice.  It is 7075 alumimum with rolled threads for less than $30.

I use a Thordsen on a standard 6pos mil tube. It snugs up just fine.

Mine fits nice and snug on a BCM 6-pos mil-spec receiver extension.
