Well after a while bouncing back and forth on weather or not I wanted a pistol or 16" set up I settled on the 10.5" non chf barreled kit with moe handguard and pistol grip for $350 shipped. Already had ordered a ar57 brand lower for $35 so not much at all invested. I picked up a bad lever at my local academy, just ordered the shockwave and magpul rear sight from primary.

If I like the set up and can see it being a serious go to set up I'm gonna go ahead and get it sbr'd.

I still need to choose a light and a muzzle device. The light I'll look into later on after I know it runs right but I need help choosing a flash suppressor . I don't care about sound or recoil reduction but I want something that will kill the flash. There are so many threads that start off about killing flash but all turn into talks about sound and become a comps/brakes thread. If the birdcage works it works I've never had an ar under 16" but I do have a draco pistol and it is crazy lol even with an a2 style birdcage on it. If its a lost fight I understand but if you guys have any suggestions please let me know.

anderson lowers are $49.99 plus tax at Cabelas if you have one near by.  i just finish 10.5 moe pistol with said lower.  have 250+ through it - runs great

I picked up a psa lower at a gun show last weekend. Had an Anderson lower on a previous build but didn't like the rollmark.

Any of the pronged flash hiders will do well. A2 is never a bad pick either, especially if you're trying to keep it as small as possible.  The type of ammo you run will obviously have drastic effects on the flash signature.

Yeah. A2 is far and away the best value. Phantom is a great cost/performance balance. Vortex is at the high end beyond which you're looking at greatly diminishing returns (eg Meyers), and also because fuck washers and having to tighten it. Curious how the JP setup works for you, though.

Ok well I finished it Monday when I picked up my receiver. Anodizing color was perfect match to the ar57 lowers buds has. Parts kit went in fine. I had two issued with lower assembly When I first intalled the the safety selector detent the hole was drilled shallow or with a bad bit the, detent was in spec and would get stuck half way through I ran reverse drill bit the same size as the hole was at the bottom through it and it functioned fine although............... the bit was a hair to big so now I have a very small amount of slack in the selector but not enough to bother me .Second after installing and function checking the trigger group, the trigger failed to reset so three swipes of a file on the disco and hammer surfaces fixed that. I'm waiting in a troy fixed rear sight and the hider to finish it off. I ended up ordering a second 57 brand lower to build because my ffl sold me a almost new dpms mk12 barrel assembly for 50 bucks when I went for the lower lol. We'll see if the second has the same detent issue.

That graph is missing some info dont ya think? What ammo was used, how long was the barrel onnthe test gun, daylight or night, etc. And a a2 fh is suppose to be better than those cans listed?
