So I'm trading for a nice AR pistol but it has a fde blade and I want a black one. What's the best paint and process to paint it black?

I also had an FDE Shockwave Blade and wanted a Black one,  First I painted it Black, but the charging handle and just general use scraped the paint off, So I dyed it black using RIT Dye. There are several You tube videos showing how its done.
