AFAIK, they're just part of the tube, the types built for braces that don't use castle nut at all. Dunno who makes that particular one, though.

Yep, that knurling is part of the tube itself, it's a round "pistol" tube that has a shoulder that just tightens down to the end plate, no castle nut.

That makes sense.  You're right... that knurled section is most likely part of the tube itself.
