lol that thing is vaporware. I'd be surprised if anyone ever actually sees one actually sold and shipped.

Don't think it's vaporware since it's showing IN STOCK on the Maxim Defense website.  The only reason I haven't hit the "buy" button yet is because I want to see what the Gear Head Works Tailhook Mod-3 looks like.  If it also uses a standard BCG, like the Maxim (which I really hope it does), I'll have a hard time deciding.

"IN STOCK" with this caveat.

NOTE: Now available for preorder. Your card will be charged at the time of ordering. Expected ship date is mid February.

That "mid February" has changed months a few times.

I'm all for new products and a guy making some money in the process. But...and this is a BIG but, why do some of these 'add-on' manufactures seem to think they can join the millionaires club quickly by just charging outrageously high prices for their gadget. Especially when a guy can buy a complete albeit  lesser quality AR for the same amount of money as said companies attachment. While I like their product and it looks very well made, I would never spend that amount of money on it. A company can list an MSRP of what they want, but the market will quickly tell them if they are overly priced. This is how I classify it, way over priced for what it is. There will always be the guys with more money than sense buying overly priced products though. Maybe they will get lucky and sell thousands of them, but I won't be contributing.

I haven't seen anyone listing it for sale at their MSRP. The ones I've seen are ~$340-$375. Keep in mind too that on Maxim's website if you order it they include "free" shipping with it.

I know a large part of the cost with the Maxim Brace is the inclusion of the Silent Capture Spring system.  Those run about $170+ on their own.

Cool!

The Maxim Exc is the one without the actual "brace" or strap portion, correct?

Or stock.......it's essentially for using the chin/jaw weld method.

I got tired of waiting and went ahead with the Law folding adaptor. Primary Arms has it for around $200.

MAXIM CQB Pistol brace.
Some pictures and weights comparing it to the Shockwave.

Waiting on some items to finish the pistol so it will be a while before I can try it out.  Initial impressions are very positive for myself other then the price over a Shockwave kit.   I ditched the Velcro and opted to use Paracord to secure to arm.

I am Paracord challenged. Care to share how you did the wrap? Can't make out how you secured the ends. Looks great!

You answered your own question$. Problem is these guys missed the boat.  The last 8 years were gun sales heaven. Now?  Not so much. Unless it's a few specific items.
