I'm considering the "Modern" series 12.5" govt carbine 5.56 barrel.
Good? Bad? Ugly?

I took a chance on them for a 8.3" 300 Blackout Hanson premium barrel and it's shooting .4MOA groups with 125gr ammo and .5"MOA with 110gr. I'm SOLD! I've got Noveske barrels and LaRue Barrels and this BA barrel is comparable or better at a much better price.

Your going to have to at least post some pics of those claims Hoss. 300BLK, even carefully crafted handloads, are not even MOA much less sub MOA.

Yup. That has also been my experience with the same barrel.

In. I am looking at doing an integrally suppressed rifle with the same barrel to get around my home state's retarded no-SBR clause. Wondering what the gas port size is.

Not that it matters as it will wear an adjustable gas block.

I shot a .3moa group once with my .300 and handloads.

Will probably never happen again but now I get to spout off how I'm a .3moa shooter all day for the rest of my life right?

I placed the order. Got a decent deal
Now I need(want) another handguard!
I'm curious how much less of a muzzle blast/concussion going from 10.5" to 12.5" barrel?

300BLK is very capable of MOA @ 100. My 125gr Sierra SP loads that I hunt with shoot .5-.75in 5 shot groups on the regular @ 100yds. Back on point, I just received my first Ballistic Advantage barrel today it is a 14.5 gov. profile with mid gas system. Looks and shoots great. I am still sighting it in so I have not done much grouping as of yet but it looks promising. I would
definitely
buy more for future builds.

Have a 12.5 from them that I'm happy with. Can't speak to accuracy because it's not a gun I shoot for tight groups. Function is great. Blast is less than a 10.5, but the 10.5 doesn't bother me, so I can't tell you how much better it is subjectively.

They make great barrels and all the ballistic advantage barrels I have shoot sub moa.

You can not go wrong with BA barrels.  I also run their BCGs if they have them in stock.  Best part is that they have combo deals regularly that give you an even better over all value.  I would recommend subscribing to their notifications.

I have am running a 1 x 8" .300 Blackout Pistol Length AR 15 Barrel, Performance Series.  I am shooting sub MOA groups a 25 yards with a 1x20 red dot.  Still breaking it in, but couldn't be happier.

I have a couple, after some use I gave two away to family members who need to build a rifle and they are still going strong , I kept a 10.3" .625

Excellent finish and function.....have not found moa on any of mine after a couple years ........I shoot and reload 600Y match on the AR platform so I know how to get tight groups. Best I ever got was just under 2" in any of my BA barrels , with 52gr SMK

I need some lessons from the guy in Oregon above who is shooting a BLK sub MOA ......never seen that yet either so maybe there is hope for me

AS556
I'm down in the Rogue Valley I have to see those sub groups

moa at 25yds = 1/4" ctc, sub moa? Show us! I have a 10.5" 5.56 BA barrel that shoots good for what it is intended for HD/PD, moa not even close.
