I have an MPX with the PSB folder. I have a form 1 pending. Question is, can I put a VFG on it now or until form 1 clears? I understand that per ATF regs as long as it is 26"oal without muzzle device or 26"oal with pinned MD it is classed as a firearm. My MPX has a pinned Lantac Dragon and OAL is 28". Am I GTG or do I just wait for form 1 approval? Read up on it and ended up just a bit more confused than when I started. Thanks guys. ETA; Thread in Sig Rifles got me no answers. I'm no expert, but does you mpx have a folding brace to it? |

The MPX pistol was not designed with a buffer tube or a stock. The addition of a brace should not be counted towards the OA. After receiving the Form 1 it is fine to add the VHG.

Honestly I'd do it.
Never heard of the requirement that the OAL only involves the way something was 'designed.' Also it WAS DESIGNED to take stocks, braces, etc, hence a rail on the back of the receiver. Longer brakes also count towards OAL, correct? Even if they aren't original or whatever. |
