I've got an old Excel spreadsheet "build" I did using the fanciest most expensive parts I could find (Proof Research carbon wrapped barrel, etc., etc.).  IIRC it was around $3K, but that was a couple years ago.

I don't mind spending top dollar on a component if it provides something I want and I can't find a cheaper option.  I'm not gonna spend for spending's sake, though...

I spent quite a bit on this build, but it also has everything I need on it. Also the ARAK-21 is my rifle upper (swapped for a 16 inch barrel in 5.56 or 300 Blackout) when needed. I really wanted to make an AR pistol that could fire while the brace was folded. It is a bit more heavy then my other pistols, but still not so much that anyone in decent shape could not handle. The ARAK long stoke piston works great and cut my cleaning time in half over my other ARs. Runs super smooth and has much less recoil then the old 11.5 inch (5.56) AR pistol did. It is a 3K set-up, but worth every penny. My perfect AR (well perfect for me) pistol build.

I believe I have almost 5 grand in this one as far as what it would have costed but I traded into allot of it.

Posted this one in a thread about 2 months ago.  Went from a budget build 8.5" Pistol to this 10.5" Pistol.  If I could start over on it I would have done the lower on a Spikes The Jack billet lower.

I just started the process yesterday on getting my first silencer that I plan to run on this and a few other firearms including my next build which is gonna be a 8" 300 Blackout Pistol build.  Went with a Griffin Armament Optimus silencer for my first one.  When I can update pics with the can on it in a year I will have a $3300 build.

It is a fun little blaster. My other guns are not as expensive but I still like them. Optics can drive the price of a gun up VERY quickly

No offense but this build confuses me. Scoped optics other than a red dot on a pistol build are hard for me to process? That being said, nice job.

It is a nice criterion barrel that's 12.5, so with good ammo I should be around 2700-2800 fps with up to 3000 fps possible. The 6x is more for wanting tight shots though and scout around in an emergency situation, if you mean the extension, well I will tell you my pistol is very "controllable". This is kinda my do everything build though so I went with the razor as it's my favorite and does a good "red dot" kinda thing really well too. Thanks! It works well for it's purposes.

It is a sweet setup. One day I would like a razor. Just a bit out of my price range now. true 1x and then 6x magnification when you need it. one day, one day. Nice setup!

Mine all start relatively cheap, and then get exponentially more expensive over time...

The take-off parts usually morph into new builds ,.. that progress the same as well.

What drove the price up so much, the colt upper/lower?
