Anyone use a 1-4 scope on an AR pistol?

I already have a Leupold 1-4 on an AR and was considering trying it on the pistol however eye relief isn't the greatest with a scope vrs a red dot. Unless I use the buffer tube for a cheek weld.

Thoughts/pic's?

I'm going t give it a try. Little heavier than I'd prefer but it's the only optic I have right now.

I have red dots on my pistols but I 'm thinking of change to a 1-3x or 1-4x since I like them on my carbines.

The Weaver is a good lightweight choice if weight is a concern.

Tried it with a Leupold 1-4 today and it worked pretty good. Although lighter would be better.

Will be better once it's a rifle ;)

I've got a 1-4 Leupold on a 10.5" AR.  I think it makes a great combo.

If that is the Luepy I think it is the Weaver would likely save only about 3 maybe 4 oz.  More weight saved by using an AERO mount that only weights about 3 oz although it is not a QD mount.

I used this set-up only because I already had it on a rifle.
The magnification was nice on a pistol. Had an EoTech on my last one which worked well.

The Weaver's spec's look good compared to this Leupold VX2.
A tad heavier (8.5 vs 8.1oz), shorter, wider FOV, but less magnification.

Anyone that has looked through both of these care to comment on clarity? Also any black rings or distortion at the edges?

Also the Aero mount is $100 less and only 3oz vs this AD at 8.4!
