Well it can be done with a brass case, as for steel maybe not.
Took both pistols out, 5.56 and 7.62 and wasn't in a hurry but grabbed the wrong mag. Sounded like a .22LR or a squib with no harm or foul. Going to paint some Zebra stripes on the 7.62 pistol and mags so it will stand out next time. Picture say alot if you look close. Be safe and don't try this.

Was just aiming down range about 100 yards at a steel plate and all I heard was a puff and felt no kickback.

That's why I color coordinate all my mags with their respective guns. Add the colored ammo cans, and so far I've avoided the failure.
Glad nobody was hurt. Other than pride

That poor 5.56 case will never be a 300 blkout case now but it was trying so hard
On a serious note I'm glad you are okay and it did not damage you or the rifle

Yeap, it has a nice neck line just like a 7.62 round.
Shot over 60 rounds afterwards and still runs like a champ

That ruptured brass is crazy, glad you are ok.
